I thought I had a lot of games until I saw this list of achievements and realized how few games I seem to have! Clearly, this is definitive proof that I need to increase the size of my Steam backlog!

Got the Deathspank Thongs of Virtue Ruin Christmas achievement today. Was playing it anyway so that's fortunate for me ^_^ I should work on a few of the others that I haven't gotten already.

I can't do anything till i am home.. which will be next week =x
(Not like I got many games from these.. but hey.. i could at least do the ones I have just for the heck of it xD)

Hey there, SteamGifts!

I will be hosting a holiday event fashioned after the Steam Holiday Sale 2011.

Each day up to and including Christmas day I will be posting a list of 6-7 achievements. The entire event will last until the end of the month (11:59 PM GMT 31/12/13).

I'll keep it simple. You only have to do as many as three each day*, achievements also need to be dated from the day they are listed or later (this means they need to be done on they day they were posted OR after the day they were posted). Can't do three of them due to data limits, not owning the games, or you've already done the achievements? No worries! I'll be keeping a larger running list of achievements you can do instead, you can also request I add more to this list. This list is called the Substituion List and you can find it at the bottom of this post.

Don't own many games or don't have a lot of time during the busy holidays? No worries, there will be giveaways for everyone to join via the thread as well as some just for participating. Some giveaways/gifts will be awarded based on how many achievements you've done--this will most likely be a giveaway for the top # of players. I can't possibly check everybody's profiles to make sure they didn't use cheats, so I'll just be checking winners for obvious signs of cheats. This also means if you want to be eligible for these giveaways that your profile is viewable**.

Keep checking this thread as there will be some private giveaways posted here, as well as the new set of achievements each day. I would also just like to say that I tried to include as many Christmas achievements as possible, but to make sure there was a big variety in games, there will be many non-Christmas ones as well.

Edit: I'll be updating the thread as this goes, including on ways to let me know you've done achievements so I can check your eligibility for score based giveaways, this won't be for awhile though as this event is just in it's infancy.

Lastly, please just try to have fun. A lot of people loved the 2011 Winter Sale because it was fun to do achievements, however it was ruined for many because so many people abused it. I'm giving out some prizes, as well as some other generous individuals out of our own pockets, we don't have publisher backing like Valve did so please keep that in mind. This is more for the fun than for the rewards as we can't possibly ensure everyone who participates walks away with an actual prize. On that same token, don't stress yourself out or take more time out of your day than you should just to do these achievements! That being said, happy holidays and have fun.

*Some achievements will be worth more, for example a very hard achievement might be worth the value of doing three achivements so you would only need to do that one achievement for the day. These will be marked by a parenthetical aside listed after the achievement such as "WORTH THREE" or "WORTH TWO"

**If your profile is private, make sure to update your astats page before and after the event if you want to be eligible for the giveaways just for participating.

Please post here if you are participating in any form! No need to do anything else! (UNLESS your profile is private, then you will need to sync it with astats when the event ends...more on that later)
