Resident Evil Revelations Lv2 | Wonderwhatif | Dec 20
Trigger warning: Had one of the hardest days today I've had in a while. I was, honestly, so convinced today was the day and it was time. After receiving the news that my MRIs showed nothing and having my doctor react like I was basically inventing my leg spasms (plus many other symptoms which I won't list for expediency's sake), giving me no information, no hope and feeling like I have no future that doesn't involve constant pain, discomfort, inability to work and being a burden on the man I love...well it was pretty grim.
Maybe somebody else out there is struggling too right now. Well, here's a giveaway that might cheer some up (I can only hope!). If you're there, hang on. I understand what you're going through and I fight every day to stay alive. Some days it's harder than others. Sometimes it helps to pretend those thoughts are an enemy, trying to get you to give up and kill yourself. I've survived 19 years of severe clinical depression, that's more than half my life. 4 years with physical problems and no diagnosis. Much more. Am I going to give up now? No. I can keep going. Even if I give into those thoughts for a little while, I know I can pass through them.
Sending you all my love, especially those of you going through stuff. <3

Please don't make yourself feel worse by comparing your problems to others, even mine! I could do the same. I mean, I might be sick and everything might suck, but I live in a place with free healthcare options (albeit not as good as the country I came from), I have a partner who is the best person who could ever possibly exist and endlessly supportive, I'm able to test many products for free and I win some stuff from competitions too. Sure many of that stuff comes because I work hard and am (generally, I think) a good person, but there are many good people who are in absolutely awful situations. Please be as compassionate to yourself as others, it's a hard lesson to learn, but very much worth it! And if you can't do that right now, just remember that I say you have every right to feel down or struggle just as much as I am!
I'm glad that I don't have MS or something (though I suppose it's still a possibility), but yeah, it's tough because a diagnosis means you know what and how you are fighting. I've been fighting so long with a doctor who doesn't seem to know what he's doing that just knowing what direction I'm leaning in is my biggest hope right now. I try not to focus on the things I've lost (except when I'm really down), but I really just want to be able to make my own decisions and live my own life without being crippled by something I can't even figure out what it is.
There's still hope, basically upping my insurance numbers, trying to get a new doctor or possibly going private and many more. It's just...so slow and yesterday I definitely felt a bit hopeless. I am so lucky to have the support of a wonderful partner who does endless research and tells me I'm not crazy, so I try to think about that rather than how I am mostly alone all day, far from my family and have had almost everybody just disappear from my life. It's lonely and difficult, but I'm not alone.
I really appreciate your kind words, as always, and if you need to talk, you know just where I am! <3

I've dealt with depression for over a decade, plus PTSD and some health complications which also make things even worse than what they are. But at least I had people that helped me. Friends, family, and even strangers from support groups that made things easier.
You should NEVER think you are alone, because there's always someone willing to help if you look around you. This might sound cliché but it's real, there are terrible people but there are also extremely kind ones. 💙
Also, if you can and you feel strong enough, please lend a hand to others in need. I've done this for years when I am confident enough that I can take on other people's problems without affecting my health to the point of getting me down.
Remember it's important to help others, but also take care of yourself.
Diagnosed depression isn't a joke (as in diagnosed by a professional and not by the patient, don't confuse it with other symptoms!). It's a serious condition and it shouldn't be taken lightly because it's not a physical illness. Just like cancer ends up with death, depression will escalate to suicide or cripple you in many ways.
Everyone feels "down" once in a while, but for some people it's a daily pattern of depression. The good news is that it is treatable.
Usually through therapy, medication, or a combination of the two. Antidepressant medication, despite some side effects, can help lift a person from the depths of depression within weeks of starting medication therapy.
If one medication doesn't work for you or the side effects are too much for you to live with, keep in mind that there are many others your doctor could give you to try.
Make sure your doctor knows about any other meds you are taking and always ask questions about your medication therapy, if needed.
Btw, DON'T get self-diagnosed, it's a terrible idea. You might be sad or during a grieving period, so always check with a doctor.
Besides, I don't know about other countries but over here antidepressants are only available if you have a medical prescription, so you will only be left with a possibly wrong diagnostic and no way to deal with it.
