Welcome to the "longest" puzzle train! I created this train a little differently than others... You don't have to solve the puzzles in order but can access the first eight puzzles directly from this opening thread separately! That way if you see a puzzle you'd rather solve then you can do those and hold off on the rest!

To advance you will have to collect passcodes along the way in either a puzzle, a GA, a GA wagon lock, or a puzzle lock! It is important to keep track of all passcodes. As you advance the puzzles get easier and shorter but the locks get harder and longer!

For those that finish everything there are NICE surprises!

You have until December 12th at 5pm EST USA to finish! That is almost two weeks!

Puzzle 1- Long words!
Puzzle 2- Amazing animals!
Puzzle 3- How long is that?!?
Puzzle 4- Longest records and feats!
Puzzle 5- What made this longest record?
Puzzle 6- Far Space Distances and Large numbers!
Puzzle 7- Longest vehicles and transportation!
Puzzle 8- Length of Famous Things!

ALL of the games below are on this train and MORE!

Please let me know of mistaken links or other issues! There is bound to be some errors and I apologize ahead of time!

I saw the hint and I'm clueless... Might it be something from US culture that could be obscure to others? PS I really don't like cursing so maybe the answer is in the song but I had to skim through it cause my eyes were bleeding :P

If yo copy and paste it seems to work but I cant figure why the names keep getting chopped off! Ive tried redoing it three times and they get chopped off every time!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There is a length limit to how much can be in each box, so thats why they are getting chopped :/

Puzzle 6, Q7, can you provide at least a unit? I tried every format I could think of (combined with different units) and there are a lot of different values (approximations) that can be entered.

in miles or km-- easy to just put amount of miles

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

In Wikipedia's entry for a light year, there's an exact value in meters, all others are approximations. I tried entering that (converted to km) with and without a comma as a digit grouping symbol. Doesn't work.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

try it now... mine may have had an extra space.... sorry

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I tried all four numbers (from the beginning of the Wiki article) given in meters (and starting with 9): the first one is written with 16 digits and the other 3 in 9.xxxxxxxxx*10^15 notation. Regardless of how I write them - in km with 13 digits (and a fraction for the first number only) or in meters with 16 digits, with or without commas in both cases, they just don't work!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ive fixed it so you only need one digit to have for answer... I see you have passed it now! Great! Sorry for frustration on that....

Bump and meow for solved puzzles 7 and 8. I'm finding puzzle 6 a bit frustrating given the variety of accuracies (to how many digits, or rounded or not)and whether or not to include the units.

Spelling correct... try googling the question prompt directly find link and copy paste from text the name.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I also struggled a long time on this question before looking for it exactly the way you did and getting through.

I think the issue isn't a typo over the different sources, but a difference in truncation. As those words are very long, they are very often truncated, and after copy/paste, although the hyphen is not present anymore, it leaves an invisible character between two letters. I spotted it when checking the spelling by manually moving my cursor, it took two stroke to move it at that exact place where the hyphen was.

So if you copy/paste from a source where the truncation was made differently, it will appear wrong. :)

Could you please clarify how do we have to write the measure on 2nd Puzzle?
Do we have to use " . " or " , " and add " m " or " meters" after the number?
As now I've found most of the answer but cannot fin the right way to input them.

no periods or quotes... number then a space then unit abbreviation
Ex. 200 m or 200 ft

Puzzle 9, not sure if this puzzle makes sense. Considering there seems to be a limit of length of input. Although some people did solve it. Maybe if I wait for the hints.
