Not that I know anything about running a business, but it almost seems to me that it if I were a developer, it might be worth it to put even an ounce of effort into my games, thereby making them more attractive and easier to sell.

Orrrrr you could spend a weekend slapping together generic assets, add the game to your usual lot of shovelware bundles and free giveaways, and then rake in a bare minimum of $3,000 of trading card (that's assuming only a thousand card farms, with minimum cards per game; it seems unlikely the actual numbers are that modest) profits for a weekend's "work".

Make no mistake, their approach is highly profitable. It's also a scam- the fact that it "benefits" people selling cards from their free giveaways is irrelevant, it's designed to exploit the Steam trading card system, and DH couldn't care less about any benefit it provides anyone other than themselves.

It's theoretically very profitable, yeah.
Why struggle to do honest work when you can just get easy money? :X

Honestly, can't even argue that outlook, but given how very disagreeable and duplicitous and discourteous DH's behavior has been, there's definitely no reason to afford them any generosity in our opinions of them:
They didn't put out these "games" because they made a calculated decision to utilize the system in a way that' 'profits them without hurting anyone', they did it because they're scummy individuals that want to exploit the system solely for their own benefit and don't care how they do it.

Silliest part is, if you were upfront about what you were doing and made sure the game had decent art for its badges and backgrounds, most people'd likely probably be totally okay with the matter.

Example:
Card Farming Simulator: Pong Edition
It's pong! And the colors randomly shift for the balls and paddles, and speed up in changing as the speed of the match increases!
Throw in fancy ball-related art for the badges [ie, nice looking fireballs] and you've got a winner. :P

But when you try to go out of your way to scam people into buying your games by doing mock up bundle sites and pretending to be another, legitimate developer; when you try to pretend you're not exploiting the system; when you harass people who call you out, when you Digitial Homocide it up- well, that's not good for anyone. :X

I think they've just revealed how much effort they put in via some legal documents:

Almost 1 thousand hours equals a minimum of 5 games?

last night, a reporter from another outlet contacted me about their own interaction with the studio. When that reporter asked Digital Homicide for comment about the lawsuit, the company forwarded them my e-mail chain and told them to refer to that.

Hahahahaha my sides

Based on the timing, I can only assume that these bundles are their way of raising money for the lawsuit.
