Is it possible to create a giveaway for owners of a specific game (using sgtools or some other tool)?

I've just wanted to create my first sgtools protected giveaway. I see a big nice list of options, but I don't think there's any way to create a giveaway in question. Am I wrong? Or maybe there's another tool that allows that? Am I really the first one who thought that it would be nice to create a giveaway of "Awesome game 2" only for owners of "Awesome game 1"?

The only way I know is using whitelist, opening a thread by adding the users that has finished Awesome Game 1 so they have the chance to win Awesome Game 2.

Nice idea, but doesn't work if you have other uses for your whitelist :/

Uhmmm you can keep them on your whitelist until giveaway end.

I meant that the other people from your whitelist (I have currently 60 people on it) will also be able to join that giveaway even if they don't own the first game.

Aaah alright, the other alternative is that you make an invite only giveaway and you send the link through Steam to the peoples that completed the game of your choice.

Or create a special group, which will be used for such special giveaways,
or join "Playing Appreciated" and give it away there, will be played for sure, while being an owner of a previous game in a series doesn't guarantee it won't become a plain "+1".

can't help with rule "giveaway for owners of a specific game", but can suggest u use wishlist filter like this

Custom rule: num_wishlisted_games < 200 and wishlist_date < date('2017/08/05')

I experimented a bit with sgtools and I can conclude it is possible to check for specific owned games. Though it probably will not work for games which steam isn't reporting properly.

The rule to do that is: appid in owned_games

For example 35700 in owned_games to check for Trine or 207610 in owned_games to check for The Walking Dead. Nothing to win here. The GA I used for testing is already over.

So you have to use the appid of the game you are checking for. And you have to write (edit) the rule yourself, because the custom rule builder has the order wrong.

Oh, I missed the button "Show/Hide variables" and didn't notice that you can create your own custom rules COMPLETELY from scratch...

Thank you for spending some time and finding a working solution! ❤❤❤
Also, enjoy a whitelist ;)

You may still need to do an "or" between different versions or packages, just in case.

I love the idea of: "finish your first game of the serie so that I give you the 2nd" <3
It pushes others to play what they win and not only collect the games on steam!

Yes, SGTools can do it with the <appID> in owned_games filter. I used it once so far, to filter for those who owned the first two parts of a trilogy when I gave away the third.
It is a handy one, although I favour the opposite, the <appID> not in owned_games version.

What's your use for <appID> not in owned_games?

Finding people who are more inclined to play the won games instead of just card-farming them. It is also getting an interesting alternative to replace the "complied standard rules" check, if I combine it with real_sent_region_restricted / real_sent_cv <= 0.1 or real_sent_region_free > real_won_region_free
