I spilled red wine all over my keyboard and had to make a late night trip to Walmart. Have any of you been really clumsy and broke something or made a mess before?

Understatement of the day...
Not that I'm clumsy, but I've had my share of silly accidents in my life. Actually, I can't think of any at the moment, for some reason. :x

Technically not clumsy, just forgetful.

I put a frozen juice concentrate things in the sink to thaw and forgot about it... for 3 days (didn't have many dishes so didn't bother with the sink for those days as I was out most of the time). So one morning I was just waking up when suddenly I heard a big POP! I rushed out cause I had no idea what it was. I look around and see orange stuff on the ceiling, walls, floor.... one of the walls was 15 feet away and it made it to it.

I burst out laughing when I realized what had happened. Too much pressure built up in side and then POP! Took me most of the day to clean up. After all these years I still laugh about it.

I've never dropped liquid on my keyboard though. My friends keyboards however all had drinking problems. lol Every keyboard hes had, has had pop, juice, beer, wine, milk, water and other liquids that are suppose to be in a glass spilled on it. To this day I never allow him near my system if hes got a glass of something going.

I accidentally shorted a car battery. Inside the car. Fortunately, it didn't damage anything.

So far I have destroyed only papers with various beverages, but no electronics

That's unfortunate. Sorry to hear that.

I had a girlfriend years ago when I was still in school who spilled her Dr. Pepper all over my laptop keyboard. I managed to clean it up as best as I could but the keys literally made a crunching noise forever after that. They would slightly stick as well.

On another note, what type of red wine do you enjoy? :)

Old time classic for me.

Spilled water on a keyboard and a laptop. The keyboard was ruined instantly while the laptop survived by miracle

Once while playing my old Playstation 2, the door bell rang and I didn't notice that the controller cord was stuck in my hand and the PS2 fell down from the table.

You are lucky my friend, the local Wal-Marts here have stopped carrying keyboards for the most part. I know the one you speak of and it is not a fun cheap keyboard at all lol.

Spilling things, a few times...I've spilled beer, water and bong water on both old keyboards and laptops. That's why now I make sure that drinks go on the end table I can reach and not my computer desk.

As far as for being clumsy and breaking something...St Patrick's Day comes to mind...

A group of people I used to run with, would get up at 6am every St Patrick's Day for green eggs and ham. First, one guy would rent a U-Haul truck and fill it with couches and mattresses in the back. Mount a space heater up and then get the DD to start driving around picking up people on the way to breakfast. At 7am when alcohol sales began, so did we. By 10am I had put down 12 shots and 12 mixed drinks. Then the pub crawl started! We went to every bar in town, stopping for a beer and a shot at them all. As we all piled out of the U-Haul we were jumping out the back end. At one of the stops about 2pm, I jumped out of the back to land on a patch of ice. That caused my ankle to roll badly ( this is also when I learned Doc Marten's have no ankle support if they are not boots.) and me to break my ankle. Basically I cracked the bottom of the ball and socket joint on my ankle. 3 screws, 1 metal plate and 1 metal rod in my ankle and about $30,000 later it's like nothing ever happened to my ankle!

I have a tendency to spill drinks or drop food if it's not on the table. :D

I had around 800 cups of coffee in front of my computer over the last two years or so, give or take. That almost costed me two keyboards, but luckily they both survived not one, not two, but four spills each. Actually, one broke so therefore the second one, but still, pretty impressive.

It wasn't my fault, but the PC I build before the one I'm currently using, the PSU decided to quit working one night. It wasn't a cheap generic PSU either. It was only a few months old and was working fine the day before. I left it on while I went out, then when I got home it was off and wouldn't turn on. I figured it was the PSU, and after some testing I was 100% sure of it. I didn't have a spare PSU powerful enough for this machine, and the closest place I could get a replacement was Best Buy, which is 50 miles away. Obviously being Best Buy, it cost 2x what I could get it for online, but it was Saturday night and I didn't want to be without a computer until Monday.

I drove there, getting there 10 minutes before closing. I grabbed the PSU, then drove home. I get home, set the box on the desk, left the room for a few minutes and came back in to find fire and smoke belching out of the dead PSU. It's a good thing I didn't run into traffic or something, because if I had been 5 minutes later getting home, I probably wouldn't have had a home.

I now turn my computer off when I leave home and while sleeping.

One time, I spilled orange juice over my keyboard.
After a while, I noticed that the 'a' and the 's' key completely stopped working.

<sarcasm>Then came my bright idea. </sarcasm>
I decided to pour water all over the keyboard to try and "wash out" the sugar.
So I proceeded to do that, then let the water sit there for a few minutes.
I then plugged my keyboard back in, only to realize that not only did the 'a' and 's' key still not work - none of the other keys were working either.

What a day ruiner that was.
Good thing it was a work keyboard.

Yes. One time went to beach with family. I left my phone in one of my pockets and forgot about it. When reached beach, I jumped straight forward to the sea and well, you can easily figure out the rest.
Also, when I was new to computers, I was worried about the dust in my computer, so I decided to clean it. Removed side covers and started to clean. I used a brush over the motherboard and that killed it. No more computer for a while.

Can't think of anything really clumsy I've done. I think I'm relatively spared from that, which I'm thankful for.

Nice that you're able to make late night trips to places that have stuff like keyboards. I would have to wait until the next day.

Thankfully, I haven't made any mess around my electronics yet. Kinda weird actually, because I tend to be quite clumsy at times.
