Here we go, I'll start.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10

The Watch (2012)

American science fiction comedy film. I was looking for some light entertainment and for that it was good enough. Very good cast, fun story. Don't expect a masterpiece, but for what it is, I can recommend it.

Jungle Cruise (under duress from my nephews)

What a dud! They are copying/pasting from so many movies, it becomes very clear 30 mn in that they have no idea where they are going. Not to mention The Rock... really doesn't cut it as a Michael Douglas Romancing the Stone wannabe. Terrible casting.
I want my 2 hours and 30 mn back.

Hard Eight (1996)

American crime film. Very good movie about a professional gambler (Sydney, played by Philip Baker Hall) taking John (played by John C. Reilly), a guy who gambled away all his money because he wanted to make enough to be able to bury his recently deceased mother, under his wing and teaching him the tricks of the trade. Which works very well until John falls for cocktail waitress Clementine (played by Gwyneth Paltrow). Great cast (apart from the ones already mentioned Samuel L. Jackson and Philip Seymour Hoffman are also playing more or less important characters in this movie) delivering great performances. Fascinating story. Paul Thomas Anderson's (you know, the guy who directed Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice, The Master and Phantom Thread. All well-known movies.) first movie, but sadly also his least known. You could probably call it a hidden gem for that reason. It's way too good to be this unknown. Definitely well worth the watch.

Nothing But Trouble (1991)

American black comedy horror film. It's not very good, but also not very bad. It's bizarre, yes. But very entertaining. Great cast including Chevy Chase, Demi Moore, John Candy, Dan Aykroyd, Tupac Shakur and more. Yes, you read that right. Tupac is in this movie. In fact, all of Digital Underground are in it. They even perform a song. I don't know why, and it doesn't really further the plot or anything, but it's fun and unexpected if you didn't just read all of this. No, overall it's not that good, but still entertaining and if nothing else, the effects are very good. I'd say don't listen to the people who say this is the worst movie ever, because some might hate it but others might love it and form your own opinions.

Worst movie ever, no. Fascinating movie, yes. Comedy, yes........ supposedly. Funny, no.

This is one of the "how did this get made" trilogy for me of movies that are so misguided it hurts, and yet I love them anyways. Along with The Spirit, and Cats.

The Big Fix (1978)

American political comedy thriller film. Good Richard Dreyfuss movie about a private detective who is hired to investigate a political smear campaign, which turns out to be more dangerous than anticipated. Very good performances, good story.

Suicide Squad 2021

DAMN that was great. FAR superior to the last one. I won't say more in order to avoid spoilers, but it's a good 8/10.

Edit- If this is what James Gunn can do with Suicide Squad, then I SO CAN'T wait for Guardians 3.

Bronson (2008)

British biographical crime film. Very good movie. The real-life story of Britain's toughest prisoner. Fantastic performance by Tom Hardy, so good the real guy even thought it was perfect.

The Hot Rock (1972)

American crime comedy-drama film. Great cast (Robert Redford, George Segal, Zero Mostel and more). Very entertaining story about a group of 4 guys stealing a huge diamond from a museum. But that's easier said than done. Fun caper, but nothing outstanding.

The Suicide Squad (2021)

American superhero film. Watched this at the cinema yesterday. What a movie! Very gorey, very crazy, just way more Suicide Squad than the other one. This is how it should be. Always love seeing lesser known characters in superhero movies. Like Polka-Dot Man or Savant. Or even King Shark and Weasel. Love the whacky, obscure, super out there characters. James Gunn really has done it again! I was really positively surprised. Might even watch the movie again soon. Highly recommended!

Dark City (1998)

American neo-noir science fiction film. First of all, I watched the Director's Cut. The movie definitely has Matrix vibes. So if you love those movies and want more, try this one. All in all I'd say it's actually ahead of its time. It's a great concept but some of the effects were a bit unsatisfying. Feels like they wrote something cool but couldn't really get it across perfectly on film. Would be better if it was made 10 years later. Or today. It would certainly benefit from today's technologies. I mean some of the effects in this one do look pretty good, but overall they could look better. Don't let that discourage you from a fascinating story, though. I can recommend this. Well, I can recommend the Director's Cut. No idea about the Theatrical Cut, although that one's said to be worse.

The Matrix came out the year AFTER this. This was first. Also, my fave neo-noir movie, ever.

I know that this was first. But since The Matrix is way more popular than this it's safe to assume that people have watched that but haven't seen this. So it makes more sense to say this has Matrix vibes than to write a review saying The Matrix has Dark City vibes.
