R u playin brd gmz?
I love Lord's of Waterdeep the most probably, but also try and play some Colony, Pandemic, Tiny Epic Galaxies or Ticket to Ride when the chance arises. I'm also hoping to get Fallout towards the end of the year, really excited for that.

Pandemic is super fun, especially when you don't want to fight with each other too much. I'm thinking about buying an expansion with bioterrorist atm , but I guess I'll just wait for my birthday and hope somebody would be kind enough :D
4 players max tho :<

Every play either Pandemic Legacy? Highly recommended.
And Waterdeep is enhanced SO MUCH by the expansion!

No I haven't played any of the legacy style games. They all seem to have mechanics of changing the board and I'm not sure I like that.

I held off for a long time when Risk Legacy came out. That one pales in comparison to any others I've played, and it blew me away.
If you have a steady group and want an experience that'll stay with you for a long time, see about finding a copy on sale somewhere.
But, of course, if it's not your thing even then, so be it. Definitely worth a try if you're on the fence.

Yep, I play board games with a group every week. We bought a new game so we're going to be playing Captain Sonar this week!
Scythe and Bloodrage are great ones we've played with recently. Favourites also include Betrayal at House on the Hill, Pandemic and Dead of Winter.

I'd love to give Captain Sonar a chance some time.

Boardgames for life! My favourites are Terra Mystica / Gaia Project for 3-4 players and Tash-Kalar (one of Vlaada Chvatil's lesser-known titles) for 2.
Yes, I am one of those Euro players who'd take a dry, soulless behemoth of a game over Munchkin or Captain Sonar all the time. I'm not sorry. :P

Don't have people to play boardgames, but if i would know some i would play them and would try every week a new one... :3

Board games are a trap. They cost so much more than video games x.x
I spent so much on kickstarter board games the last couple of years....
My top games so far are Patchistory, Gloomhaven, and Arcadia Quest. Such a wide variety :P

Dominion is cheap-ish and HELLA fun. Lots of replayability, quick matches (~15 min each) and has TONS of depth. If that is not enough, there are like 5-6 expansions. It is a deckbuilding strategy game kinda like Slay the Spire.
I also own DungeonQuest, its also HILARIOUS but it's very RNG-based (which makes it more funny because you can die stupidly out of nowhere)
Getting serious, I have Descent: Journes in the Dark 2nd ed. Dungeons and Dragons-like game, but you have lots of tiles to make maps. And comes with campaign books.

Welcome to the Dungeon and Welcome Back to the Dungeon are quick side-games that last max 10 mins, good filler games.
My friends own Mansions of Madness, it's very good. Arkham Horror and Eldritch horror are also good but too long for my taste (a match can last 2-3 hours)

Heroscape and Lord of the Rings Risk
Cards against humanity and boss monster are sweet as well

Unfortunately, I just don't realy the get the big appeal of board games. I live near Philly, and I was over the moon when a PAX was slated to begin in Philly... until I heard it was PAX Unplugged - exclusively tabletop and boardgames.
I'm slowly beginning to find my niche of tabletop games (anything with very thin systems and zero numbers) but still no board games.
Oh, I played Ticket to Ride once and I thought putting together the trains was really fun!!

Pandemic is my most played board game. It took a few games - and playing it on our own without expert players to take over - for it to click, but once it did we were hooked. There was a period of a couple months where we didn't even bother putting it away, just cleaned it up and got it ready for the next day.
My favorite games tend to be co-op:
Mechs vs Minions is amazing. Fun, strategic, and chaotic all at once.
Castle Panic is pretty fun as a D&D-lite-lite game, but really shines with the Wizard's Tower expansion.
Avalon is great with a 5+ group, full of intrigue and second-guessing.
Forbidden Desert is fun as a more lighthearted alternative to Pandemic.
For competitive games:
I really like Ticket to Ride Europe as a fun intro / casual board game.
Clank! in Space is great fun, and feels like you against the game more than you against other players.
Dixit isn't really competitive, but is gorgeous and wonderful. It does call for more of a fun loving rather than competitive group.
Codenames is both competitive and co-operative, and is way more fun than I expected. A great party game. I haven't played Codenames Duet yet, but I can see it being great as a 2-player game.
Mysterium is another game that's more co-operative than competitive, and is also gorgeous (almost as much as Dixit) while also having you thinking out of the box like Dixit and Codenames.

Let's put our beloved video games aside for a moment and talk about the irl multiplayers! Favorite ones, recommendations, stories connected to them, memez, local meetups, anything goes.
I personally love A Game of Thrones: The Board Game. It's very interactive, requires lots of planning and plotting, has great mechanics. One time, after like 5 hours of playing as Greyjoys, I decided to break my pact with Starks and did full invasion on Winterfell, just for the lulz of reconstructing the books :V. Unfortunately, it requires a lot of spare time (minimum 3-4 hours) and is the most fun when you have a full group of 6 to play.
Btw, bonus points for guessing where does my avatar come from :>
