If you mean old school point and click adventure games then most of the lucasarts and sierra ones were good fun though my favorites would probably be the dig , full throttle , roger wilco series , and freddy pharkas the frontier pharmacist (that's a mouthful).

While I absolutely love the Monkey Island series, Broken Sword wins for me for purely nostalgic reasons. Can remember playing it with a friend on the Playstation (how tedious without the mouse!) and George's bottomless pockets never fail to make me laugh and phrases such as 'T-shaped tool' and 'sodden tissue' are used by me whenever applicable.

My favourite adventure game is Myst, I highly recommend it if you haven't played it yet. The Longest Journey is really good too, you won't regret buying it. Dreamfall is not that good IMO, but it's still worth trying.
Another old adventure that I really liked is Riddle of the Sphinx - the only bad thing about it is the beginning - it is hard and the graphics looks bad. However, if you like pyramids and egyptian history you will like it.
If you want to try something newer - Resonance is a very good game with interesting story. Secret Files series and A New Beginning are also worth mentioning - they are games in Broken Sword style. And finally (because this post becomes quite long :P ) one game by the creator of Gabriel Knight - Gray Matter.

Go play The Longest Journey! But for me, this one is so high above other adventures, that you will then hardly seek another, that can compare with it.
And just because nobody mention it, The Black Mirror Trilogy. I don't know if people don't like it or don't know it, but I really enjoyed this. But it's not on Steam, maybe that's the problem.

Monkey Island 2! Of course, Broken Sword 1 is pretty awesome, and I'm enjoying Runaway.

I'm replaying old adventure games from LucasArts, Sierra etc. Can you recommend any good oldies? It's nearly my pay day, so I can buy whatever I can.
I'm thinking of the longest journey. For some reason I never played it.
I'd also like to play Gabriel Knight 2; it was 6 CD's, so I couldn't buy it. I wish they remade it (just reencoding the videos, the videos look horrible).
What are your favourite adventure games?
