Because getting sth. for free is always nice and I think everyone enjoys free stuff.
Also on this site (at least I think it is like this) everyone has the same chances of winning in a giveaway - no tickets and stuff like that, just one entry per person.
And last but not least getting free stuff is great but after sometime you begin to feel kinda guilty and you start wanting to give sth. back - still working on that though. :D

To feel happy. I feel happy when I make other people happy rather than myself. :3
When I want to have a game but I don't have time to play it or need to play other games first, but I really want that game, so I give other people. I satisfy myself by doing this way.
Edit: Aand I feel like all of us are united here as the whole world. There are a lot of discrimination in the world and I move away from this a tiny bit.

I would consider there to be different reasons for it. Based on the feedback from the discussion board, it could be reasons like:
Or perhaps it just makes me feel good. Which, interestingly, could be attached to any of the above.

Most of the times I just happen to have games from bundles that are just lying around gathering dust. So what's a better way than making giveaways and entering others in return? It's like one hand washes three others. If I did not have spare games, I would not make giveaways. No money, no honey.

I just give all the games I get in humble bundles that I know I'm not gonna play, or already have. Too much of a pain to trade, plus the person might just rob you anyway lol It's nice getting into the higher level giveaways as a reward though, just hit level 5 this morning.

Makes me? Nothing at all... :) But it's the easiest way I know to find people who can't read... :)

Because I can't be one of the cool kids if I don't go broke by spending all my money on gifts for strangers.
But mostly, it's because I can. I'm not rich by any mean, but I have a steady job and can afford to give the occasional game. And since I'm a greedy bastard, I usually trade my extra bundle keys so I end up having to actually buy stuff to give away here. (Yeah, greed is playing against me the whole time.) But I kinda like the CV so I prefer to give away non-bundle stuff anyway. :P

Sharing, because bundles mostly. No reason not to. Theres also some game-pack sales (for example, 4 packs) and i only have 2really close friends who actually play what i gifted then.
In the begining i leeched in SG; But since i started here i became bundle addicted and i started winning games; Heck only coming hoping to win withotu giving back wasn't cutting it.
Also steamcards. I still don't get all the crazy with level and badge collectors. I sell almost all market itens i get, cards mostly, but some team fortress too, and those revert in GAs. Ive only been slow lately because this past year i barely had time to actually play anything. Right now my steam is running just to get some cards because im still out of time to play. Heck. But fgs this weekend i finish all my duties and christmas will really begin... i hope!

I really just had nothing else to do with my bundle leftovers, and I don't really like trading because it involves talking to people and stuff. I have a good ratio on here and I've had people whitelist me because of it, but I kind of feel weird about that, because I've never bought a game just to give away here. All my giveaways have been games from bundles that I already had or didn't want.

I am evil and like to increase other people's backlog.

at first levels and cv, then I found groups... after groups I do not care much about cv and levels (if I don't level down of course).
I'm not a rich person neither (the econoshit in brazil doesn't help at all in this case... the same goes to humble fucking region locked bundle), but I do what I can to pleases who I really like on these groups. I like this place because is kinda problem free. After my fist win I really engaged on this thing... Since then I couldn't stop. :P

Hi everyone.. I've been here for 7 months already and I'm glad I joined since this is a great community, but I just joined the website today and though.. This has a huge number of giveaways per day. I was wondering: what are your reasons to giveaway games? Myself, I'm not a really rich person, and I make huge effort to save money, to buy games from time to time. (All my steam games were my brother's; he gave me his account). So, why do you that? Well. On my case, I usually trade cs:go skins to then sell to the steam marketplace in order to get some games to giveaway.. My reason to do it? well, I truly love this community and as I already told, this has an enormous number of giveaways and what better way to give back some games too! So yeah, I would like to know your reasons. Also, have an happy x-mas! :')
