I still have my old NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy (Still have the original Final Fantasy Legend Series and Adventure for the old GB too) and even got an SNES Mini as a gift, in the past also had a PSX, PS2, Dream Cast, and Sega Genesis with 32X (Loved Virtua Fighter). but for me, it is all PC honestly.
When my old NES dies, I won't be able to play any games on it, if the controller dies, I will play hell trying to replace it, same as the other systems.
On my PC though, I have the old Quake series and Fallout and a bunch of other games all the way from the 90's and all of them I can still run on the newest PC out. I can play my console games on emulators. Even my old PSX games, even though I don't have the system anymore, I can throw the discs in my Blu-Ray drive and use a PC controller (Xbox 1 controller for me) and play them just fine and have them look better than the original console.
With PC, I don't have to worry about shelling out extra for an online service on top of my online just to play them unless I go for WoW or something. With PC, my games, no matter how old, I can still get running and I never have to worry about losing them because the console or controller dies because all the newest stuff will still play them. And then you have the modding community as well.
While Console might be easier initially since everything "Just works", more bang for the buck on PC, plus the stuff gets cheaper faster as it gets older on PC compared to console.

Have you tried psnow on pc? I planned to buy an old ps3 for that reason. I ended up playing all the ps exclusives on the pc

Heavy rain, last of us, Red dead redemption, journey, god of war... All played on the pc. Heaven

I have psnow on the pc. There are very few exclusives left in the PlayStation system that I want to play.

I have both PS3 and PS4 and haven't touched them in more than a year. I personally prefer the PS3 for the extensive collection of titles and the slight nostalgia factor. Although I have a fair amount of games for PS4 it still doesn't look mature enough to me. It's a matter of preference. Gaming wise, among my favorites is the Ninja Gaiden series.

I have PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and SNES Mini, and actually I play with all of them (and with my PC) I'm an addict! 🤣 Please help

There's no "all of them" option. I currently own a PS4, Xbox One S, Nintendo Switch, DS, 3DS, WiiU, Wii, PS Vita, GameBoy Advance, NES, PSX, Sega Mega Drive and SNES Classic.
Planning to collect many others once there will be some extra money available, but i'm aiming for retroconsoles. I never played with an actual Atari 2600 for example.
To answer your question: right now the console worth buying for a PC user is probably the Nintendo Switch. Lots of exclusive titles that you can't find on PC and the portability is always a great option. Too bad both the console and games are expensive. On second place there's the PS4 with its great catalogue of exclusive titles, but multiplayer is locked behind a paywall and most exclusive games are third person action games, not much variety to choose from.
If you don't have a gaming PC and you can't afford to spend much money, an Xbox One S is probably the cheapest option: i found the console on sale on Amazon for as low as 149€ and games costs less than the PS4 version, i often found some great titles for 10€. Not many exclusives to choose (but apparently Microsoft is aiming for getting lots of studios to produce games with), but those games that aren't available for PS4 are really strong, like Forza Horizon and Sunset Overdrive.

I have a Nintendo Gameboy, GBA, GBA SP, DS, DSi, 3DS, SNES, Gamecube and Wii; Sony PS1, PS2 and PSP, Sega Gamegear and Dreamcast; plus an original Xbox. The Gamecube, PS2 and 3DS still get a fair amount of use.

Other then PC I only play on my PSP these days. Great little system, completely underrated. If they still made games for it I'd still be buying them.
I own a ton of retro consoles too, but I never really play them anymore.

I'll give you one: building a good gaming PC easily costs 3 to 6 times more than a console and games have become similairly priced when Steam stopped making great deals and Sony and Microsoft started making deals on their stores. For the same price of a RTX 2070 you can buy a Nintendo Switch, a PS4 and a couple of games.

Consoles already somehow have their right to exist...
but 3 to 6 times in Costs is nonsense.... almost everyone has a PC around.
So you dont need to buy a monitor, input devices, Sound probably not even a case and a hard drive
but even with ....the inner life that wipes the floor with every console ...costs 500 €
and which idiot will buy a 2070, please? or rather where is the connection? if a 1050 is already superior to any console
compare completely different things makes no sense ...of course, if you want the best, it will be expensive, but you dont need it to achieve the same or a better result

I don't know. A 1050 here goes for about 200 eur and 16 gb of ram 160 eur, which is the price for a PS4 1 tb and a couple of games. A medium config goes for 600-700 eur, not counting extras like a more powerful videocard, an SSD and a gamepad. Considering that you can find an Xbox One S for 149 eur and a PS4 500 gb for 199 i think that the 600 eur for a mid gaming PC is literally "3 times that". Besides, a 1050 won't last long before it won't be "superior to any console" as newer games will make you sacrifice details.

A 1050 Ti 4GB costs here 160€, yeah RAM is expensive at the moment
but at a low to middle budget system, you do not need 16gb it comes out with 8gb Ram ....2400s/CL17 goes for around 65€
PS4 is pretty expensive here "new prices" slim 500gb no game bundle 280 to 340€ . 1 TB 350€+
And you must not forget, you need a suitable TV. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages
Sure you make compromises but you can do more with it and swich the hardware if needed
It is an endless topic but the price should not be the reason.... more the games, the comfort etc speaks for the console

I also own an Oculus Go, and I think it's reasonable to call it a console, because it's a self contained device which is meant for gaming and media consumption. Unfortunately it lacks one thing which other consoles have, which is a curated store.

If you're not interested in the 3D effects, get a New 2DS. It's faster and cheaper than a standard 3DS/2DS and it's well build (unlike the original 2DS which is made with cheap plastic). It's also available in lots of colors.

I've got PC, PS4 Pro, Xbone S, Wii, Wii U, Ps3, Xbox 360, PS2, N64, Vita, PSP, SNES classic....
PC is of course best, but if I was to choose 1 console out of them all, I'd suggest PS4 Pro. I can't compare it to the Xbone X, but it just works better and smoother than any other console i have.
I used to say Xbone was better, and held off getting a PS4 for ages... i wish i hadn't waited, it's excellent.

i grew up with a lot of consoles. ps1. ps2. ps3 slightly ps4 but it wasnt mine and it got sold shortly after. also had the xbox, xbox 360 and xbox 1 which also wasnt mine. oh and the wii almost forgot that because well its the wii! handheld i had a gameboy, ds, 3ds and a psp. while i never had the older ones i did go to someones house and pretty sure i remember mario 64. i cant say which is worth getting since my main online was only xbox 360 since my ps3 i literally asked for so i could play beyond 2 souls and heavy rain selling it shortly after when i moved out. even on pc i barely play online games. i gradually got used to mouse and keyboard when i played borderlands but its just to difficult when i spent all my gaming life on xbox or very rarely the ps3. if i had to choose i prefer xbox because thats what i grew up on and cant wait for christmas since my brothers getting an xbox 1 and im just gonna take over since i only see them on the weekend!
