Once, partially. I had two keys, one for a single game and one for a pack. We agreed that I'd go first with one key, he'd go with his, and then I'd give him the other one. I gave him the single game key first and all of a sudden he refuses to give me his key until I give him the other one as well, which is when I decided to bail out (after half an hour of arguing). He also immediately logged off once I gave him the key, probably to activate it on his real account. Ever since then I don't trade with keys anymore, it's just not worth the hassle. It's better for me to give away that stuff to nice people here than risk giving it to some asshole.

I'd just give spare keys away here or on my minecraft server.

Never been scammed, but I've had to deal with some annoying customers/sellers when handling online auctions. One guy accused me of lying when I told him I don't have leftover cereal boxes to use for packing materials. Obviously I secretly eat cereals without telling anyone :P

I lost a bundle key in a "key first, gift 2nd" trade. Surprised the guy would even bother; I wasn't being super careful but it was worth about 25 cents. Have done 200+ other trades and never had an issue.
On a side note, I was almost marked as a scammer on SteamRep due to the actions of someone impersonating me :P

Once. On the street. I was still a kid back them.
I don't mean to offend but its really hard for me to understand the amount of scam reports i see- more then 90%(of 'steam' scams) of them i could see as a scam miles away. People need to pay more attention, scam only exists because naive and lack of attention are wide spread.
Talking about steam/gifts/trading scams the only one i can remenber theres no avoiding are bad keys that parse trought steam only to some days/weeks later being removed from your library.

Once in real life, once online, never on Steam.
Real life: I let a kid play my copy of Pokemon Red back in 98 I think and then I wandered off to go talk to some friends. Keep in mind I was 8 at the time so when I returned to that spot a bit later he was gone and my Gameboy Pocket was there, but my game was gone as well. Then he claimed someone took it and that he'd buy me a new copy if I gave him my pretzel money for a while. Eventually I started hiding my pretzel money in my mouth as I lacked pockets in dresses.
Online: I was playing an MMO I can't remember which when I was a couple years older and this guy was all "Hey, come with me and I'll help get you some gold!" I followed him, he led me out to the wilderness PVE, and then killed me. I don't recall if he also swiped my stuff, but he definitely killed me and then taunted me for trusting him.
You can surmise that I stopped blindly trust people like an idiot.

Got scammed two times on marketplace.tf
The first time someone abused a bug that made me loose a few items and the second time by the mods themselfes. It was back in the days when the site was an open trading website.. now they just sell items for money, guess my items got sold by them too ;)
Total loss was ~5 TF2-Keys worth of items.. enough to be a little pissed, but not enough to really cry about it.

Back when I was stupid and played RuneScape, I was really trying to get a Whip (then it was considered a strong weapon). It cost about 1.5+ million coins which for me were a pain to get. So after I got 1 mil I naively tried to find someone selling it cheaper. And lo and behold someone offered me a Whip for 1 mil and asked me to go to them. They were at the VERY edge of the Wilderness (zone where people can attack and kill other people) meaning that only people at exactly my level could attack me. What is the friggin' chance that a PKer EXACTLY my level would charge me right after I started a trade with the trader, added my part of the deal and then he abruptly closed the trading window. Always be suspicious of humans beings- ALWAYS!
So... once.
On Steam- never. :D

So I just got scammed and learned a good lesson. And now I wonder how many times have you been scammed and for how many keys did you lose when you got scammed?
Personally I this was my first time I was scammed and lost 14 keys :/
