The 2014 version of MTG: Duels of the Planewalkers was just announced, meaning it'll probably be released in the next couple of months.

Is it still worth picking up the 2013 edition now? Even though nobody will end up playing it in 3-4 months?

$9.99 for everything isn't a bad deal either. Still deciding though.

Thanks!

Played the card game long ago when it was just cards..never played the game though. just picked it up yesterday. and within the tutorial I got a game crashing bug. But, meh to be expected.

Anyway, if anyone wants to help me learn this game or play together add me on steam!

I played it , it's not that bad but I expected more... After few duels it gets quite repetative...If you're a die hard fan of MTG then get it!

It doesn't really matter i think. In my opinion you could make 2 choices:
-Go for the cheapest deal
-Go for the one with the biggest community around it (once 2014 has been released for like a month or 2.)

Reasons being.... there's no difference (as far as i know) between 2013 and 2014,
just like there was no difference between 2012 and 2013.
The only thing that changes are the cards.... but almost any MTG player will be able to tell you that all colors do roughly the same- release series won't matter.

So yeah, I'd probably go with 2013 since its cheaper, has an existing community with people who'd like to play with you (looking at previous posts in this thread) and doesn't miss on anything that 2014 might have. :)

2013 is good, but do buy deck packs and expansion to keep it interesting. Starting with the monocolor is no fun at all
