Publishers market the game. EA markets the game. They market it on their service, because they get more of the cash with their service.
Welcome to business.

Meh, they could use Kickstarter or something to avoid EA...
Comment has been collapsed.
They didn't. They went with EA.
Just get Origin if you want to play the game. Running Origin, play the game, close Origin when done. No big deal.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's too difficult, I'll better do suicide, than buy games there...

I have started a personal boycott against EA. It sucks when I really want a game and then I realize EA published them though.

and u want to share money with "Valve"? Come on, Valve make a lot of profit from game sales, u think it's that clean than any other devs? EA did a good job and I have no problem that none of their games are on Steam now. Why do u think Blizzard never get their products on Steam, and then EA did that too...not much time and that will happened to Ubi too.

Unlike Valve, who released all their own games on origin and uplay? What EA is doing, is no different from what Valve is doing. Thinking EA would give up 20-30% of the revenue of their games to Valve is moronic. The shareholders os EA would slaughter any CEO making that decision.

The same day DOTA 2 is available on Origin. (Trolling aside, if you really hate Origin and love Titanfall, get an Xbox)

XBox One + XBox Live Gold monthly subscription + copy of the game.
I really hope people aren't so stupid to let dislike for a different program be a reason to spend several hundred dollars to play the game.

Count me in as well :))
I don't actually hate Origin but I do feel it's way to minimalistic.
Comment has been collapsed.
well Im an EA "fanboy" just because i like their products...the other aren't "fanboys" for their different tastes...so count me in :D
Comment has been collapsed.
they don't hate Origin...it's a EA thing..and i can't understand why...maybe they've got wood pc's? :-??
Comment has been collapsed.
If you are worried about the glitches don't buy it day one, and wait to see what others say
edit: I bet they went with EA, because the main developers used to work for COD which is on steam
Comment has been collapsed.
It'll never happen because EA needs to push Origin, which is their competitor to Steam
Too bad for them.

Oh, unlike Origin, UPlay has problems. Ever had your internet go down playing one of those games?
Comment has been collapsed.
Luckily, my inet is super stable. I just wanted to say that all these DRM's for me are like Kalypso or Securom, useless without Steam. But at least, Uplay got brains to collaborate with Steam.

Uhuh. I asked EA to merge 2 of my Origin accounts, the answer was: " I am tired of this shit "

Not gonna lie, I don't like Origin at all (Dem prices yo) but I've got to admit, the few times I've had to use their customer service, it's been pretty top notch.

for me, it's not about Origin, it's the company behind it. EA has a trend to purchase quality game studios and milk them. acquiring BioWare and ruining Mass Effect, was pretty much personal for me. I read that this was not the first time either this happened.
Comment has been collapsed.
I like RPGs in general and Bioware made several other titles besides Mass Effect like Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age:ORIGINS (the one before EA). Mass Effect went downhill after the acquisition of BioWare and kinda marked the death of Bioware, as I know it and it's work.
Comment has been collapsed.
death of BioWare? Do u hear urself? Let's assume it's a dead company. Then Tell me how the heck in this all world a dead company can realease a new game this year called Dragon Age: Inquisition? Which i have to tell u that will be awesome.
Comment has been collapsed.
don't take it literally, the emphasis was on as I knew them from the time before EA. Inquisition will still be only available on Origin, so it's a no deal for me.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm sure it will be casual boring game with as DA2...
Comment has been collapsed.
ruining Mass Effect with what? Because u hadn't so much ending choices? It was the last of the series...it couldn't give u much choices so they couldn't continue the series like Final Fantasy XXXLIIIIIXXXXXILLLL aand so on...wtf people?
Comment has been collapsed.
DA2, DAL and Mass Effect 3 were piles of shit. As well as Syndicate...

I don't think it's a matter of Valve allowing their games on Origin. I'm sure Valve would put their games on there, except... EA.
You can see the reasoning behind it when you ask yourself, just how many non-EA games are actually on Origin?
When you have EA only allowing their own published titles on their DRM service, then it becomes less of a platform for gamers and more of a profit rocket, forced hand, on EA's behalf if someone wants to play their game.

We as the gaming community should be able to play our games on whichever service we prefer. So far as I'm concerned all should be one.

generic? did you even watch some footage or try the beta? it's not generic at all. you guys just hate without even knowing what you are talking about.
titanfall is with the titans, the wall-runs and double-jumps, so much more than your typical generic mp-shooter.

Multiplayer is $20 DLC add-on. Online training maps are only accessible for multiplayer mode with base game Titain robots.
Premium Titan robots are $10 each (you must resin them, $5 per skin) before you can play online.
To join non-training maps, you need to purchase $15 riding skill.
Non-Training maps come in map packs (4 maps) $25 each. Upgrade your map packs to multiplayer accessible for $5 per map.
Think your titan needs bigger guns or better abilities ? Unlock them for just $5 each. Rank 2 AI for your titan, $10.
DLC exclusive to xbox one owners: For just $20, you can unlock the ability to get XBOX Live Achievements and avatar items!
Note: I jest, but this is how it feels to play EA published games.

Did EA release ANY game on Steam since they made Origin ? I think not.
EDIT: Look at what they released last year on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/Electronic%20Arts

Which now apparently doesn't allow me to see any of my friends online anymore, friends which are certainly online. This bug seems to have started last year and it's on-going. There's actually a topic on the EA forums with around 150 comments and 0 responses from EA and go figure the latest pages and comments are mostly from people trying to play the Titanfall beta with friends.

I also joined that "club" this weekend. Long live the Origin... NOT!!!
Comment has been collapsed.
Because Origin can build on Steam's experience and feature palette.
EA doesn't require extensive market research or solid statistics, they can simply look at Valve and say "hey, online DRM really works, lets bring our own client software". That's the main difference between pioneering and mimicry.
Comment has been collapsed.
will buy it only if it will be on steam, no Origin use for me, even not trying beta which is free.
i think valve and ea must deal that they release games on 2 services, it better for them and for us. And player chooses where he could buy it .

The engine in the game using the Source Engine from Valve. The company has also released the game for Steam.
Do you think the game launches Steam someday?
I really fell in love with the game (playing the beta) ... but Origin? meh
