The engine in the game using the Source Engine from Valve. The company has also released the game for Steam.

Do you think the game launches Steam someday?

I really fell in love with the game (playing the beta) ... but Origin? meh

EA have made a decision. They won't release new games on Steam anymore.

So devs don't decide anything there?

Publishers market the game. EA markets the game. They market it on their service, because they get more of the cash with their service.

Welcome to business.

They didn't. They went with EA.

Just get Origin if you want to play the game. Running Origin, play the game, close Origin when done. No big deal.

I can't really understand why there's so much hate towards Origin. It's working fine for me. Saying that you would rather suicide than buy a game on Origin sounds a little bit over-exaggerated.

I won't be buying this game. It looks fun, but there are plenty of other non-EA published games, that are just as fun and enjoyable that I'd prefer to give my money to.

and u want to share money with "Valve"? Come on, Valve make a lot of profit from game sales, u think it's that clean than any other devs? EA did a good job and I have no problem that none of their games are on Steam now. Why do u think Blizzard never get their products on Steam, and then EA did that too...not much time and that will happened to Ubi too.

Unlike Valve, who released all their own games on origin and uplay? What EA is doing, is no different from what Valve is doing. Thinking EA would give up 20-30% of the revenue of their games to Valve is moronic. The shareholders os EA would slaughter any CEO making that decision.

for me, it's not about Origin, it's the company behind it. EA has a trend to purchase quality game studios and milk them. acquiring BioWare and ruining Mass Effect, was pretty much personal for me. I read that this was not the first time either this happened.

what was so good about mass effect? i couldn't stand 10 mins of either game, felt so repetitive and linear it wasn't funny

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I like RPGs in general and Bioware made several other titles besides Mass Effect like Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age:ORIGINS (the one before EA). Mass Effect went downhill after the acquisition of BioWare and kinda marked the death of Bioware, as I know it and it's work.

death of BioWare? Do u hear urself? Let's assume it's a dead company. Then Tell me how the heck in this all world a dead company can realease a new game this year called Dragon Age: Inquisition? Which i have to tell u that will be awesome.

I don't think it's a matter of Valve allowing their games on Origin. I'm sure Valve would put their games on there, except... EA.

You can see the reasoning behind it when you ask yourself, just how many non-EA games are actually on Origin?

When you have EA only allowing their own published titles on their DRM service, then it becomes less of a platform for gamers and more of a profit rocket, forced hand, on EA's behalf if someone wants to play their game.

Multiplayer is $20 DLC add-on. Online training maps are only accessible for multiplayer mode with base game Titain robots.
Premium Titan robots are $10 each (you must resin them, $5 per skin) before you can play online.
To join non-training maps, you need to purchase $15 riding skill.
Non-Training maps come in map packs (4 maps) $25 each. Upgrade your map packs to multiplayer accessible for $5 per map.
Think your titan needs bigger guns or better abilities ? Unlock them for just $5 each. Rank 2 AI for your titan, $10.

DLC exclusive to xbox one owners: For just $20, you can unlock the ability to get XBOX Live Achievements and avatar items!

Note: I jest, but this is how it feels to play EA published games.

Because Origin can build on Steam's experience and feature palette.
EA doesn't require extensive market research or solid statistics, they can simply look at Valve and say "hey, online DRM really works, lets bring our own client software". That's the main difference between pioneering and mimicry.

will buy it only if it will be on steam, no Origin use for me, even not trying beta which is free.
i think valve and ea must deal that they release games on 2 services, it better for them and for us. And player chooses where he could buy it .
