bugger this for game of soldiers
I played only 55 hours ( i say only cause this is Skyrim).
TL;DR: Consider a concept and create a character based on that.
In these 55 hours i played 2 characters and finish none.
On the first i was a wood elf who was the "Holy Dragonborn", i mean i played as the nice guy who is helping the poor, fighting the evil and defends the people from the dragons. It is pretty interesting especially if you are a detail-maniac like myself and you want to walk every part of the map, use every weapon, travel on every village, search every catacomb, use no mods to alternate the original game and pay close attention to the story and its characters. I have abandoned at lvl 26 and at a point where you have to go to the north and launch a struggling attack from the ship against a castle full of powerful wizards. I didn't manage to overcome the first 5 enemies due to my focus on the CQC skills and as soon as i got my DLCs on CK2 at that period, i stopped that character.
The second one is an Orc. The concept of that story was supposed to be "Skyrim's Burglar" with focus on lock picking skills. I reached lvl 16 but abandoned that one too as at that period i became unemployed for 3 months.
Both characters were extremely interesting and well made imo as both were based on characters from the novels i like to read in my free time. When i will find time to install Skyrim again on my PC, i will definitely continue both of them. So, at a final analysis, the ingredient of success is not mods or fancy items or extraordinary fights against dragons with a club for weapon, it is your imagination. Consider how you would like your ideal Skyrim to be and create a character based on these needs. Following the story line, doing side quests or simply free roaming is the last and least thing you should worry about.

thank you.
that is nice take on the game..
create your own story with imagination and continue your adventure in the game..it'll certainly make the game 10 times more interesting.
play as hero in one and villain in another..i'll probably complete the current play through as good samaritan then start with new :D

Step 1: Get a desktop.
Step 2: Turn your AC up (40 or below)
Step 3: Get a decent sized pot, remove the handle, put some horns on it, and wear it on your head while playing
This simulates you actually being in Skyrim as the Dragonborn, and is the best way to really immerse yourself in the game.

I started as a Nord, with two handed swords/warhammers. I didn't know crap about TES games or even RPGs. So I started picking up everything that seemed "better" than my current gear. Result? I became a fucking walking tank. With a warhammer that kills in one hit.
A while later, after killing Ulfric, I got bored of the "human tank" playstyle. So I stole his clothes, and switched to archery. Currently, I'm still with archery, although I don't play much anymore. When I do, I sneak and silently "snipe" my targets with my bow.

Not sure if that's right, but I think I remember someone mentioning a Skyrim multiplayer mod to me.

I'm not going to tell you anything new about this game. Our mates have done it very well ^^ But I want to share my experience in Skyrim :D
I've played for nearly 300 hours and I am still in my first running. I'm not near "finishing" the game (maybe I'm a very meticulous explorer who prefer climbing mountains than travel on roads). Lately I have had to switch my weapon and armor because I was practically invincible (one sword+shield with perks for magic res+heavy armor -> greatsword+light armor). I have been preparing my next run and I have chosen a set of mods focused into inmersion. I've decided I want to roleplay hard (hunger, cold, fatigue...) for a completely new experience.
You can choose both if you want, playing one character in vanilla version and another one in a modded version. I think I will do that, using Mod Organizer.

so I'm thinking of starting skyrim again. I have played very little of it I got too much involved in side quests... main missions..I don't even remember them but I got in hunters guild n to join them did bunch of stuff last mission was where I became werewolf n slaughtered a bunch of people
I wanted to ask which according to you is best play style? which one did you use? I am dark elf with one hand for fire n another for sword can't i become vampire too ? once I have become werewolf? what was/is your favorite style? I don't mean class as it doesn't make that much of difference, but play style as in sneaky/ Sword berserk/ stay away n shoot arrows/ Same but shoot magic cuz it looks kewl
also I don't know how to contact you Rinrin but if you read this that thread bump was Not random. I hate to create new threads. I simply wanted to start Skyrim but didn't know if I should start with altogether new game or continue with the previous.
