Have you tried Warband? I was also considering this.

I heard that NS2 need strong teamwork, less charging into your enemy type of FPS.

NS2 is the better game to be honest.
But if you can afford it, get both.

Its been out for a while now and is still going fairly strong.

I don't need to be from the future. Just look at what happens after each sale the game has been through.
Even after March 18, when it got to his higher player count (maybe on a free weekend), it went down, again, reaching an average player count of 600 people, just before the sale. With the summer sale, the avg didn't even reach half way its maximum, so, it seems this game is not saved.
Chivalry is also losing ground, after each sale, but it never got to an avg of under 1200, and it currently has an avg of almost 3300 players, instead of 990 like NS2.
So, even if you didn't understand I was exaggerating, it still is better to choose chivalry over ns2. Both games are good, but I wouldn't take the risk with ns2.

Hmm...does NS2 have any kind of progression or will I be playing the same game 20 hours from now?

Can't speak for NS2, but Chivalry is so much fun. Well worth the money.

Pick Chivalry if you like medieval battles. or natural selection 2 if you want fps/rts. I got both and those indie game's are very fun. They both were a mod. natural selection was a half life 1 mod that was popular and Chivalry was a half life 2 mod that got popular and they are 2 different indie developer's, The half life 2 mod was called Age of Chivalry
I recommend you pick both if they go on sale but my suggestion would go to Chivalry because of the fun combat it has.

CS series comprises your top 3 games, Chivalry is just medieval counter strike so I'd recommend you go for that. NS2 is nothing like counter strike, teamwork is everything in that game.

That's a good point. Teamwork often frustrates me because it doesn't happen...

How can you compare the 2!? They're 2 totally different games! I have played every medieval game out so far. Mount & blade, Chivalry, War of the Roses, you name it! I've also played Natural Selection 1 back in the days and Natural Selection 2. They are all fun. It really depends on what you like. Strategy and shooting? Go for NS2. Group mashing and arena type battles? Also dueling? Go for Chivalry.
Oh and btw if anyone is interested in a group buy for NS2, go to the Group Buys steam group discussion as I have a group buy going on :)

Maybe he's comparing the two, because they're both games he'd like to have and they're both on sale? Doesn't need for it to be a comparison of genres or anything like that. He could be asking in terms of community and how well the quality of the games themselves.

I see you went for chivalry. I bought it yesterday and I can't stand how clunky the game is.

I own both. Spent almost 100h in NS2 - it's a great game, but you don't get great players in every match so it really depends from match to match. But when you get a good match it feels awesome. Many people use microphones which is also quite great. Just got Chivalry for myself and it is quite fun. Right now I would rather go for NS2, but maybe I will change my mind if I spend more hours in Chivalry.

I've watched videos for both and am unsure which to go for. Any comments would be appreciated.
