I havent entered any giveaways for a year but now that im entering again i seem to be winning way too much (idk if the 1 year gap had anything to do with it), like 6 times in the past 2 weeks, but i also noticed that im randomly getting blacklisted too? and i got kicked from the group i won my recent game from, none of the groups i have require you to HAVE to play the games you win, and while i do plan to play most the games i win, i cant currently due to my final exams coming up in 2 days, so ill probably be inactive for the upcoming whole month but i was just curious why people blacklist users, in my mind i havent done anything that warrants blacklisting by multiple users so i just wanted to know what will make you wanna blacklist someone? personally i havent blacklisted anyone but i wanted to see why others would blacklist someone :D

Thank you for reading my meaningless post! Here is a small gift

I mostly blacklist people on premise "this is insufferable jerk, I don't want to have anything common with them". Too bad blacklisting don't hide their topics/messages in discussion section (yes, I know ESGST has such feature, but native one would still be better). At some time I cleared blacklist almost completely, leaving only about 5 users or so, but now that SG is infested with russian neo-nazis my blacklis grows big again...

Various reasons but one the primary ones is people who abuse the CV system through overpriced asset flips, regional pricing, etc. For instance, I recently came across a user who gained 4000 CV in less than 2 weeks by switching regions to Argentina and giving away 5 copies of games that were at 99% discount. All the games were (and still are) Full CV. He advanced from lvl 6 to lvl 10 in record time for less than $40.

I consider that an insult to normal users who spend years and hundreds, if not thousands, of $$ to even come close. I don't think such a person deserves to win any games from me.

I have 2 blacklists since I joined 3 months ago and have given away 108 games in that time. I don't think I've been anything but responsive and kind... so I'm gonna go with there is no real reason .. maybe they don't know the difference between black and white list lmao

Don't let it bother you, if they blacklist you, you also don't have to deal with the elitist behavior's there's always another giveaway somewhere :)

I can tell you this: I blacklisted you because of your sent/win ratio AND that you never gave back to the group from which my recent giveaway was from.

In fact, you never even made an initial giveaway to that group as the rules of that group state you MUST complete a giveaway before entering other giveaways. That is almost certainly the reason why you got removed from that group. Hope that clears it up for you.

Edit: Also, I don't care if I get blacklisted. If someone has a reason to do so then I respect it. Personally, I only blacklist those that take from the community and do not give back to it. Also, those that say hateful things, but thankfully that's much less often so far.

Thank you for the comment and clearing it up, thats understandable but i did not realize that rule probably because i havent used SG for a year and have forgotten most of the groups im in's rules, i join random groups all the time, if i knew i would have made a giveaway but i should pay more attention next time. oh and thank you for the doom 2 game <3 couldnt say my thanks cause i had been blacklisted 😅

(late reply cause i have my finals going on and dont use sg as much rn)
