Hey guys and gals,

I was curious about steamgifts.com's stance on gifting a one time games and DLCs that you receive for free from other websites. I recently received a free DLC for a game I dont play, and the giveaway is registered under that account, so I cannot request additional copies.

Am I allowed to gift this item here, because I do not wish to use this particular game DLC that was received?

im okay with that! I just would hate to have something that someone else wants to use while it sits under my inbox with an unactive key.

Thank you for your response.

In the past giving away stuff that were free was not allowed and they used to be completely removed from the giveaway list but that changed months ago.

It has to be a steam key/gift that can be activated on steam (keep in mind can't gift already activated games/dlc) and when making a giveaway you have to chose the correct DLC it is if it doesn't appear in the giveaway creation page then most likely you can't make a giveaway for it (or it hasn't been added to the list for some reason). Since it's received for free if it was from a massive giveaway then it will most likely not give any CV for levels.

If it's not a steam key you can post it in the discussions, there's even a post specifically for that or for keys you aren't sure if they are used etc. (https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/LS9Hd/orphan-keys-drop-thread) but obviously you don't gain anything from that too.
