I've read the FAQ. While it discourages contacting the gifting user to ask about the code, it doesn't say anything about this other scenario.

Thanks, and sorry about my ignorance.

I always appreciate when my winners leave a comment after winning. Many say thanks for the key and tell me that they have activated the game and marked as received. Some people also a comment about that they are looking forward to playing the game or similar. Those kinds of messages are nice to get in the giveaway from the winner. I say go for it.

Yeah! I just did that. You're right. It's non invasive, yet polite.

Thanks for the suggestion!

One more thing - when replying to someone you can use the "Reply" text just below that particular comment, like I did now. Then the user (which you are replying to) will get a notification about it.

Two games in two weeks. Wow. Enjoy your games, and welcome to SG. )

Just as a heads up, the two most common reasons for suspension seem to be failure to redeem a won gift and "calling out." "Calling (a giveaway) fake" is a close third. Avoid those three things and you should be fine.

Thanks! I will.

I'll do my best to stay on good terms with the community as a whole.

It's safest to say thanks after you've received the code, yes. This way you avoid both

  • People that blacklist you for saying thanks during giveaway
  • People that blacklist you for not saying thanks after giveaway

Congratulations on your win!

Whoa... I didn't know you could be blacklisted for the first one.

I guess that if they get notified with each 'thanks' it can be unnerving. It would be much easier to say in advance that it's better to avoid commenting.

but always read the description. People will blacklist you if you don't read their descriptions.

Now that you have 2 games. most people will now consider you as "leecher" and will blacklist you unless you make a giveaway.

It's been both on the same day. Is there any way to check who or why someone blacklisted you?
I don't have spare keys now and there won't be a general HBundle until the end of the month..

Edit: naturally, I always read the description.

I see... I'm glad I made this topic. There's a lot of stuff that I don't know yet about the site.

I think it'd be good to lurk the forums for some time to get a better understanding of the site's culture.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Some people get annoyed if they have notifications or something, so they could blacklist you, i personally do what DanZDK say, when i win the game, i say thanks for the game on the GA.
