What's the point even in allowing native currency? Nothing changed in prices for Ukraine, so what was wrong with dollars... I want dollars back.
$1 = 26.5 uah. After a year it might be 30 for a dollar. So why the hell would I want my steam wallet to drop in price?

Lol for Poland. PUBG is really cheap(72zl vs 100zl on kingu) but other games on kingu/Allegro are cheaper way too much(PREY-60zl vs 180zl, Deus Ex:MD 45zl vs 219zl) xD

This is.... I'm from Israel and I have no idea why we have same prices as USA or Germany. If someone at Valve thinks we have same income here - LOL. It's like Poland and Germany if we will compare the income. Is it possible to purchase game and gift it to someone from another country? Does this update affected trading/gifting games again? And another question - what will happen if I will change in my Steam account settings country to USA? I really don't like to see prices in shekels, prefer $.

Here's a status report summary from Israel - this is BAD.
From going through tens of games on my wishlist I can conclude that price went up from anywhere of 5% to 33%!
A few examples:
I think those are enough examples. You can add /?cc=il to the end any store link to get the exact price in israel curreny (ILS) and see for yourself.
Indie games seem to be priced almost the same but that's not a big comfort for a Triple A whore like me
Also some games can't even be sold right now at all. The worst for me is the 1st game on my wishlist -
METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN.
Other examples:
ARK: Survival Evolved and
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
But I'm sure that will be resolved very soon (they don't want to lose money do they?).
Edit: Some corrections and linking problems. I haven't commented in months on SG.

It's the same for Argentina, I have at least 50 games in my wishlist that can't be bought anymore, I hope they will update the prices for the next sales.

Fuck this update... I want to see everything in damn $ in my steam!

This is bordering on shambolic. A tweet from Defender's Quest dev Lars Doucet reveals that Steam apparently suggested prices, but developers need to manually accept them.

9875/19195 no price
looks now we have minimum price for game, for my region game cant be cheaper than 0.38 USD
most new AAA titles set 60 USD price
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, 1/3 of my wishlist just became unavailable, because publishers didn't give a damn and didn't set the prices. I'm afraid that many older titles will remain unavailable. Also, the change made enhanced steam and csgo backpack go nuts, making profitable trading near impossible. Isthereanydeal is unusable on steam store. We can pretty much forget gifting outside Poland too.
Only comfort is that wallet conversion rate was good, I earned about 3% compared to paypal conversion. But it's a 1,2 EUR difference for me.

No one answered on my questions, so I will post them again. Hope someone can provide the information. Is it possible to purchase game and gift it to someone from another country if I have currency in shekels and recipient in $? Does this update affected trading/gifting games again? And another question - what will happen if I will change in my Steam account settings country to USA? I really don't like to see prices in shekels, prefer $.

What will happen if I will change in my Steam account settings country to USA?
Can you actually change the country that simply? I don't think it's possible unless you visit USA and change your account settings there, or use a VPN (break TOS) to do it.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can't, Steam reads your IP address. If you change it by other means (like VPN) you're playing with fire. Valve can lock you out of your account for it.
I've read somewhere here that you can get gifts from another country (we don't have a region lock yet, from what I know) but only when the price gap is 10% or less. But take this with a grain of salt as I can't verify that at the moment.

omfg... I don't want to see shekels in Steam! I want to see freaking dollars! Any other service or web-site will give me an option to choose what currency to show even if I'm located on the moon...

Do you know Steam Enhanced? Pretty useful. It's not updated yet for this new currency issue but the developer is active and responsive in the forum so I think if enough people will talk about it we'll - at least on the browser - get the dollars back (with comparison to ILS).
Comment has been collapsed.
I know this add-on, but I don't want to add any things to my browser just to have an option to see prices in $ lol This is ridiculous! With each update Steam becomes more and more aggressive. But that's what Steam community deserves. Each time something retarded happens to Steam everyone sit quiet and don't protest against these non-user friendly updates.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can protest all you want, won't influence their decisions at all. Still waiting for new UI update, hopefully it will be ready before winter sale. I will recommend Enhanced addon though, it is essential if you use website a lot, similar to RES extension for reddit.

I partially disagree - it's true that you won't change the decision itself, as in going back to USD. However, we might, if we organize a large enough consumer group, make the decision more fair and bases in reality. The conversation rate that Valve uses as the default suggestion for USD to ILS is outdated and makes almost every game pricier by 10% and even more (see my comment above). Not only the conversion doesn't reflect reality but if you take parameters like living costs and wages in comparison to USA and EU the prices should go down by 5-10%.
I'm working on a full analysis to show the numbers to other Israelis, if I'll have enough time and resources I'll present it in all the places that can draw a large amount of attention from Israeli consumers.

Conversion rates for pricing isn't Valve monopoly. Every other publisher gets into attention it's own conversion ratio. It should be locked by Valve as it's being abused. Like mexico prices for COD WW2 - which is 72$ when being converted from mexican money. While us gets 60$ price :D EU - 49.99 EUR which is basically the same.

Grand Theft Auto V is now the equivalent of $100 USD for customers from Israel.
The regional currencies are another great change in a string of excellent ones. Exactly what I and many other who used to spend too much money in the Steam store needed. Thank you Valve! :-)
