This is a good or a bad thing?

They're always better prices in the local currency, or it is probable a worse deal for us?

If your economy is worse of that of US or EU, then congrats, you'll have cheaper prices \o/ Romania still has its own currency, but Steam shows us Euro prices, which are very high for what our economy is. Having regional prices would be awesome.

noone can say - some countries with their regional prices and steam regions gets better prices - like Norway, which despite having one of the stronger economies in EU still gets cheaper Steam prices because of their separate currency, in other situations it's the other way (New Zealand nowadays sometimes has more expensive games than both EU and US). Whether prices gonna be better or not will really depend on how developers/publishers approach pricing for new regions. One good thing is for sure - different regions much more commonly have price glitches compared to US/EU (it's easier to make a mistake in region which currency you do not know), so this one is good - will give better chance for getting games cheap if you are fast enough to buy a glitch ;)

Just a small correction, Norway is not a member state of the EU. But your overall point stands.

I do not buy things for GAs anymore because of obvious reasons, but I still do get monies from trading cards, boosters and ocassionally other items and it would be a shame for this money go to waste (it would mean that valve is getting money - market fee, yet I am the only one getting nothing). So I am still buying stuff, only for myself this time ;p

The Full Federal Court reserved their judgment a few weeks ago; hopefully they won't take too long (and hopefully it won't then go on to the High Court!).

That's mistake, AUD has been open for price submits since 2015, for original launch date.

Now if only they'd adjust prices here too according to local wages, though I'd fear region locks then.

Does anyone have experience with what happens to your existing Steam wallet when a new currency is introduced, if you will be switched over to that currency?

It is automatically converted, yes. The exchange rate is usually quite good.

depends - NOK and CHF are two of the strongest currencies in Europe (also both Norway and Switzerland are one of the richest countries in Europe) yet in general games in Switzerland and Norway are cheaper than in EUR region ;p

Haha how fair is that?

Does anyone have an idea when these currencies will be officially available? How long did it take to add new currencies the last few times?

noone can be sure, but usually Valve send these announcements to devs in order for them to prepare new prices for major sales - so either it will happen before fall sale (less likely) or winter sale (more likely)
