Bad Rats is kinda like COD:Ghosts, Just way cooler.
And it has rats.
And you can kill cats.

Sorry for being obvious but... Skyrim? Also, for the skies, buildings, burning etc. Red Faction Guerrilla would be one of my first choices.

Well, the very end is kind of a cop-out, but its easy enough to see all of the endings. And with the way everything was set up, I'm not really sure what they could've done better for the end. It would've been awesome if the entire last level was something different, depending on the ending you're picking (avoiding spoilers), but that would have been an unrealistic expense.
Developers already talk about how lots of people never see the endings for games anyways. Imagine if the endings required entire separate levels!

Ultimately, I think they were trying to avoid a massive disconnect between DE:HR and DE. Not that I think it really matters, especially with one of the endings, and the amount of time that has passed since the first one came out. But, I also think they wanted to leave open the possibility of a sequel (other than the existing ones), by not having HR end in a way that they couldn't retcon back into order.

Fallout New Vegas, a game you can spend hours just walking around

Games which ask difficult questions in sophisticated ways, and force the player to do genuine soul searching are few and far between. And almost never are they AAA games.
You certainly will not find that in anything with Call of Duty in the title.
The Bioshock series, the Deus Ex series (mostly the original and HR), and to a much lesser extent the Mass Effect series are the only two that immediately spring to mind as even being sort of philosophical in a useful way. Spec Ops: The Line deserves some mention too.

Bioshock, Far Cry 3, Max Payne 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Spec Ops The Line, Unreal 2 The Awakening, F.E.A.R, World of Goo, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl, Half Life 2, World in Conflict, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Deus Ex, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Thief Deadly Shadows, Prototype, Metro Last Light.
Sorry for a list filled with so many first person shooters. Just cause it's my favorite genre doesn't mean everyone likes it as much, but it is the genre that has given us the most gems over the years and that can't be disputed. And if you actually thought for a second that Ghosts is any better than those awful, horrible, horrendous Modern Warfare games, you're just diluting yourself. Just believe me and be glad you didn't spend a cent on such a piece of shit.

*deluding
Diluting is a process that makes something more watery.

Oh, thanks for the correction, you learn something new ever day. And here I thought my English was almost flawless. Gotta stop being so overconfident and cocky :-p.

You'd be surprised how many native English speakers I know who've made that same mistake in the last few weeks.

Dark Souls II, Witcher series, Fallout series, Mass Effect series (these're one of my favorites), Payday 2. Also if you are interested in some RP and kinda different game and like to interct with other players try Arma 3 Altis Life mods, it can be pretty fun sometimes. :)

I'm looking for something EPIC. The Ben Hur of games.
I want scope, and I want depth.
I want to soar the skies, climb mountains, slalom through buildings, and destroy behemoths.
I want to tackle philosophical issues, change the world.
I want to see the world flourish, I want to see it burn down.
I want exceptional writing, beautiful music scores, and stunning scenery.
Basically, I want a game that got lots and lots of money thrown at it, but managed to not suck.
I would have been interested in CoD: Ghosts, with its really world-spanning story, but it's getting panned on Steam reviews, and I'm not willing to risk that much money on a mediocre game.
So anyone?
Edit: Thanks for these suggestions! Mass Effect is probably one of the most 'epic' game out there. I should try that someday when I get the chance. I'm also getting lots of great games that aren't necessarily 'epic'. Although CoD: Ghosts might be shallow, it looks like it's got some breadth, so I personally consider it as an 'epic', if not in quality, then at least in quantity. But it's personal opinion, and I can't really be bothered to argue linguistics on the internet. It never ends well.
