What I do not understand is why you put the "whole story" on your own website.
I understand youre angry from your perspective, but didnt you go a tad too far with this?
I suggest putting your precious time in your own game.
I find it odd that a developer reviews colleagues. I mean, youre free to do that, but if I was a dev I would stay far way from doing that.

The sentence "I could create this myself in an hour" in the review alone is very weird for a fellow dev himself. It's an insult in every possible way. The fun part is, he himself clocked over 7000 hours in GameMaker, 5000 more than the PE dev and has still not a finished game to show off. :D

How is it a hassle? I'd argue it's easier then any other development environment (unrelated topic). On another unrelated topic, wouldn't you want to turn off the computer to save electricity and therefor your money? You said you have family to attend to so I'd assume you are paying the bills.

As someone who is paying the bills for m'lady and myself I can say that I am extremely conservative.

Steam's clock can't represent how much people 'work' on Steam. Idling nullifies its credibility of tracking the correct time.

"As a developer, am I exempt from sharing an opinion?"

If you are going to bury another indie game with your comments, then Yes you are exempted.

As for the word "enough", i am quite sure that everyone who lives in a society and knows what the words "manners" and "attitude" mean understands it.

Actually he idled for about an hour. He got the 'Day One' achievement. In an hour you can get two nearly day 10 or further. There is a 'Day 5' achievement. Time passes as long as you aren't paused.

If you are defending the dev so much, you could at least give a mature response to his/her wall of text, or say nothing at all. "tl;dr" isn't exactly the the best reply and is not helping you at all. Infact I think It makes things worse for you.

That was the first response Misskpavd made to you in this topic, and you say you replied with "tl:dr" to her detailed and well-argumented post because you've had enough of her?

For someone so hung up about rudeness, you sure have trouble recognizing it in yourself.

And no, "tl;dr" was not an appropriate reply, it was a childish and immature one.

What a ridiculous statement. He might be a maker of games, but he is also a consumer of games, and as such he is entitled as much as every other consumer of games to comment on them and share his honest opinion.

This isn't some sort of competition like "Gamers can only buy game 'A' OR game 'B' but not both". Is any and every flaw a fellow game dev points out means that they are trying to "bury" the game they review so that gamers would buy more copies of their own game?
I thought getting feedback from a fellow developer might be useful, because they know the struggles and tricks and technology of development...

Remember how I DIDN'T bother you regarding your review originally? It's because it was helpful. It's weird and inappropriate statements that you decided to keep such as, "I could create this myself in an hour". You are a developer and should realize that you DON'T say these sort of things. It's like walking up to another human and going, "I'm better then you". It's a weird sort of self indulgence.

Anyhow, I've moved past your word choice and simply am going to continue work on my game.

This still reminds me of Planetary Annihilation. Only the dev there just accepted the negative reviews because… eventually… very eventually… even he acknowledged that the "game" as he released was just an empty husk, where the early access status was just a completely unmasked money siphon to fund the ever-increasing production budget.

Also, just a friendly advice. You are trying to sell your product in a store. The fact it is digital is inconsequential. Yet you, for quite some time now, are directly violating the very first rule of business and any form of marketing, taught in practically any consumer business class, anywhere: "the buyer is always right".
Even if they are not right, you don't attack the customer and try to make their statements looks false (even if they are), but either ignore it and focus on the other customers, or try to come up with a solution that satisfies them and you both.
Instead of spending time now on the second forum with pointless internet drama.

How is a comment containing the sentence "Guys can't you just fucking appreciate the game?" (emphasis added) and the phrase "FFS", meaning "for fuck's sake", polite?

The answer is it's not.

But you're saying it is because you understood it to be in agreement with your opinion, while at the same time calling that which doesn't agree with your opinion impolite. Well, that's not what politeness means.

What? It's blacklist of 'will not buy of his product'. Don't be a smartass. I will NEVER put another gift on Steamgifts. Who cares about putting up a gift here. And I did say about it in my second sentence. Poor reading comprehension you have there, lower than 7 year old kid.....

But since you talked about SG.....

When I blacklist on SG, it's so to make the said guy in black color due to add on script, like I did to you, not to stop them from entering my GAs since I don't intend to make any.

It is so I can easily troll/harass them in the future.

I remember reading your review and I'm one of the people who marked it as helpful. The fact that a game is Early Access doesn't mean it gets excused from criticism of any kind. It's up on the store as a purchasable game. Lindion has full rights to criticize the point the game was at when he played it. It's also not his job to go back and replay the game over and over to check if his review is still consistent with the most recent version of the game.

Vanguard Princess steam publishers (eigo manga i think) have also censored me. i gave some bad reviews of the game in the steam hub forums and they eventually just tracked all my posts from there and deleted them all

they also banned for me permanently with the reason "too many reports on this user" because i reported someone who flamed and insulted me for "insults" reason

i said they were mistaking in the moderating chat stuff and that was before i notice they deleted all my posts so it was clear they intended to act like that, and they never replied in the moderating chat

as someone else has stated in here it's not the first time i see such thing and i wasn't really surprised to get censored like that. i also got censored in an other forum for the same reasons

if you are posting postively about a game and praising it so random viewers think the game is good you are immunized and can flame anyone who's publicy stating their negative feedback about the game. if you are one of these you might get banned for whatever reason they can invent and will always blame you and all and you will eventually get banned if you don't go in the positive praising train

i just read your link OP (forgot doing so), and it was pretty good to read. it's sad and funny at the same time how idiots behavior when they're been given power. the guy's wrong on the whole line. there is nothing we can do against it just by showing stuffs like that, but at least that's a bit entertaining from time to time

valve could start by cutting off publishers and developpers powers through the steam platform itself. very stupid, or smart but unfair to do so in the first place. they put the product in a space that's expected to be neutral, letting players speak their voice and their opinions so reviews and all reflect the state of the game, except that very image is controlled by the sellers. how fake
