Just asking, why is everyone so excited about a 4 year old game?
Just curious, not flaming on the game or anything...

Skyrim was released 5 years ago yet people are excited for the special edition...

Also, Dragon's Dogma was not previously available on PC and there are many gamers on this platform who don't play on a console as well.

Humble Day of the Devs Bundle actually gives me 10% off coupon for all (not NEW subscribers). So this bundle will be 10.80 for everyone who bought Day of the Devs. Can someone please confirm this ?

I bought the Day of the Devs bundle. I just cancelled my subscription for the Monthly (already have DD anyways) and tried to re-subscribe to test if there actually was a discount coming with some coupon, but there was none, sadly :(

I haven't bought a bundle since April, I suppose it may have defaulted me back to being considered a new subscriber due to the gap.
Meanwhile, regular subscribers seem to regularly get promos in their mail- others were discussing there being an active 10% coupon that sent out recently, so maybe check your Humble-associated e-mail? :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, that's exactly it. The people who got the unrestricted coupon had been unsubscribed for at least 2 months.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not so sure about that... I bought the October bundle, didn't get November and said yes again to the Monthly for December, which I was able to purchase for $10.80.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ah, then maybe it's only one month.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I have no idea how this works, it's kinda puzzling... When I got the October bundle, it was the first monthly I was purchasing since April and I had to pay full price. Maybe HB distributes the unrestricted coupons at random? I don't think that's the case but otherwise, I can't explain why I got a discount for December but not for October.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, they originally gave out unrestricted coupons to everyone in the beginning of the monthly, but then they later stopped and only gave the discount to literally new subscribers. This is the first time they've started giving the coupon to people who have been unsubscribed for a month or more, as an incentive to get them back. They're experimenting, and so they keep changing the conditions at different times. Next month, they might change the coupon terms again or give them to different people. There is no set way that the coupons work because Humble hasn't yet figured out the best way to incentivize people to either stay or come back. So don't let it worry or confuse you. It's up to Humble's whim.

So if I subscribe for monthly bundle when can I unsubscribe in order not to buy the next bundle but still get this one?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You have until 7 days before the bundle you do NOT want goes live to unsubscribe from it. At that point, you are auto-charged.

So, if you subscribe for December but don't want January, you have to unsubscribe a week before the January bundle is live, which would be by December 30th (January bundle is live on January 6th).

I know region lock's been reported for Japan, but I'd also like to add that if anybody else in Japan gets ahold of one of the Dragon's Dogma keys through trading or whatever, you don't need a VPN to redeem it. Kinda weird. Just did it myself

I'm in the U.S., and the note before gifting says:

"This key is not available in the following countries:

RU, KG, MD, JP, UZ, AM, GE, TM, TJ, BR, KZ, AZ, UA, BY.

If the person you're gifting this to lives in one of them, Steam might prevent the key from being redeemed."

Can you get your Dragon's Dogma game (question to yearly suscribed users)?

I used to get it early by clicking on "pay early", but since I am suscribed, I can see my next month link so I can see the key for the first game, and then next month, the rest of keys are added.

But this month, when I click on that, it keeps frozen, I don't go to my december's bundle :/

This is exactly why I am not purchasing it yet. I've been chipping away at my backlog and probably don't need yet another huge rpg. Considering that it's been on my wishlist for awhile, though, I'm debating making this my first Humble Monthly.

If you can afford it without much problem, you can just buy it and wait a few days before deciding if you activate it or not - many games of mine ended up on giveaways because of this :D

Don't worry, it'll probably turn up in another bundle as Tier 3 game within a couple of months. You can always get it then.

That all depends on what you are looking for out of a gaming experience. Some people don't like to delve into things that are too involved or require too much of a commitment from them. Or perhaps rather than dump many hours into one game they would prefer to spread that time around multiple.

Yes. You can usually pay the fee for a few days before reveal, they just have a date where they automatically charge your card.
But you can also just pause it. I think you can decide to unpause later and still get that month's pack.

"If you are a recurring subscriber, you will be AUTOCHARGED ON NOVEMBER 25th, 2016"

The exact time when you get charged isn't specified. If you might try to know that, you could contact their support. But we can assume that you have time to pause or unsubscribe, let's say the 24th at 23:59PM.

The same could be for subscribing, 1st at 23:59PM. It's better to not risk it, whether you want to subscribe or not.

Permalink

You can subscribe up to like.. 5-10 minutes before the bundle is revealed if I remember correctly.

And yes, unsubscribe one week before as mentioned in OP. at around the same time. Better unsubscribe at least a couple hours before to be sure you won't get charged.

Cancel means that is it, you are out. Pause means you'll skip that month but they'll charge you automatically for the next one unless you specify otherwise.

What Talgaby said! Also if you just click on 'pause-a-month' you can choose to pause again and again. Not sure for how long but I at least paused for 3 months straight :).
Also you get to keep the HB store 10% discount even when you are paused! If you cancel the subscription you don't.

You should be able to trade Dragon's Dogma for the majority of the cost of the bundle. Sucks that you forgot about it though :/. Hope it comes with some wishlist titles :D

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Here's hoping!

I'm kinda surprised at how bad some of the trade offers you get for Monthly games are. o.0 Maybe I just don't know how to work the system or something, but for example last time I got such gems like Save the Dodos or Hexoscope for Slime Rancher... That's why I ended up giving it away. :)

The region lock sucks though, when it comes to trading. But it sucks even more for GA purposes so IDK. :/

You can get some decent trades for the Monthlies. I traded Slime Rancher and that train game for Cross Code last month. And managed 4 games from my wishlist just for Rebel Galaxy.
