So i am trying to download Dead Space 3 since day 1 of the humble bundle and this piece of shit is stuck on 60% because keeps going backwards! It was 82% and wen´t all the freaking way back again! I think i am loosing my mind here...

Also why Origin insists in chargin me with Euros when i don´t live in Europe boggles my mind.

PS: I never, ever had this issues with Steam.

Any one knows a solution?

EDIT:

Trying Origin BETA, apparently working fine, 92% without problems, let´s hope.

Now about those Euro dear EA...

I love how it's as if Origin was just released. it's as if no one touched it until now xD

I had the exact same problem with the exact same game. Pissed me off so much. I have no clue what fixed it. No clue why it suddenly worked after the 12th time. I just kept redownloading again and again... This was the first game I played that needed origin so my first impression with Origin was this experience. Now I'm hesitant to touch the thing. Best of luck to you.

Yeah, I've had this issue since installing it. Support's suggestions weren't any good, but I'll parrot them here for you :
Make sure you have the right ports open, and if it keeps happening, go into the Origin settings and enable the option to participate in the next Origin release beta. Don't expect that to work because these solutions have been posted for two whole years, so they obviously aren't working ;P

One other suggested option that seems to have had limited success, is to cancel the download entirely, delete any downloaded files for that game in your origin downloads folder, and then restart it. I was about to try that myself, but one of my Origin downloads finally finished last night after a whole lot of data loss, bouncing from as high as 90% to as low as 25%. It's almost as if Origin tries to validate files while it downloads, then believes some of them are corrupt and deletes big chunks of it. Weird really.

All I can suggest is that you wait it out a bit longer if you have unlimited bandwidth. If not, I might consider cutting my losses and downloading it from scratch.

I had this problem with sims.

Theres a fix in the beta version of Origin

The fix :

  1. Go to the Origin menu

  2. Application and Privacy

  3. Click keep Origin up to date / opt for betas

  4. Restart origin, resume download

With the amount of traffic it's gotten from this Humble Bundle it's to be expected. Gotta give them some time to adjust.

It's not really the slower speeds from the rush of downloaders. It's that data you've already downloaded is being deleted by Origin, setting the completion percent back by a large amount, multiple times. It's just vexing, as I'm sure people haven't encountered this kind of behaviour before. I sure as hell hadn't~

I had problems downloading games on January (from Gamersgate AND Uplay). Turns out it was ESET NOD32 antivirus fucking around with the downloads.

Solution was to install this hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2789397

Download: http://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=15881

Hope it helps with your problem.

I live in Mexico and I get everything in Pesos. So some Spanish speakers get their own currency

I only downloaded Sims 3 from Origin, and after it was installed the first thing it asked me was to download and install an update, which I did. Once that was done, it checked again, and required me to download and install another 1.5 gb update. At least with Steam, when you install a game it's automatically installed with the latest patches and you can start actually playing the game instead of downloading more patches.

Same happens with Battlefield 3. Really annoying.

When the bundle first started they gave out one key for the Sims 3 starter pack, which I registered even though I already owned the base game. I have installed Seasons, Supernatural, and Generations onto my base Sims 3 in the past and they worked fine. But once I activated the new starter pack and downloaded the High End Loft and Late Night content, my game stopped working. It would crash after using the launcher. So I uninstalled the base game and reinstalled it + the big update and same problem. So then I thought okay, maybe it's because the loft/late night DLC are tied to the 2nd copy of the base game under "My Games" in Origin. So then I just uninstalled EVERYTHING. Then I downloaded the base game yet again, as well as Generations, and Loft Stuff, installed and now they work. I still have to re-download all the other DLC but what a pain.

I didn't have any problems with Battlefield 3, although I was shocked to see that after downloading 20 GB, I can't simple launch the game without going through a website first. Really? No way to play SINGLE PLAYER offline? I guess I shouldn't be surprised what with Sim City and all being the same way, but jeez. That is horrible DRM.

Had that problem with Burnout, BF Bad Company and BF3 (that last one being the reason i installed Origin in the first place), i don't know if it's due to heavy problems with the download servers or what, but it was definitely annoying, i pretty much stopped playing BF3 due to having to redownload the game at 15kb/s on every patch, and getting stuck at certain parts over and over.

It's a shame this hasn't been addressed yet.

Blah, i still remember those days, it was such a mess, took like 20 minutes just to log in, took more resources than Firefox with 512MB RAM and Winamp at the same time, and it was utterly slow.

Thankfully that has changed quite a bit, though there are still a few issues.

Should i buy BF3 premium or only Close Quarters DLC?

I would go premium. Close Quarters was the only DLC I didn't like. End Game is awesome, especially the timed Capture the Flag games.

I love only-infantry type and indoor areas to play at FPS. Because of that i though i would get it.

CTF sounds awesome though.

"This game lags! Devs are lazy and they cant make goods games!"

This is an analogy to your complaint. It's a probably on your side, not everyone on Origin. So just because you have a technical issue doesn't mean Origin is crap.
