For level 0 it averages around 1 win per 1000 entries I think. Might be more, might be less, it's all RNG.
And since chances are equal between all entrants that means that the fewer entries a giveaway has the better your chances.
The forums have a number of invite only giveaways you could join to boost your chances, either in the form of puzzles, hidden GAs, just thrown out links etc. and ofc the higher your level the better the chances since many giveaways have a minimum level requirement(aka fewer entries)

How long it takes depends on what giveaways you enter and how many you enter. And no, there isn't any other trick than less entries = higher odds of winning.

I've won my first game after 1,000 entries.

Registered one day ago, probably only joining public level 0 GAs.
The probability there usually is below 0.1% to win.

Take a look at the number of entries in those GAs. If they have been public you will probably win after your 1000-2000 entry.
If you want higher chances, try to solve puzzles from the forum or join other private giveaways from the forum.

I've won a giveaway that had over 1000 entries, and I've lost a giveaway (2 of them, actually) with only one other entry than mine. RNG can be a fickle mistress sometimes.

the higher your level the better give aways you can join, so basicly the more you give the more you have a good chance of winning :)

Took me a while until I won my first giveaway. My advice is to join giveaway groups. It got to a point where I was winning a game a month. But now, my last won was 6 months ago. It's been a while.
