under 2k.... you can make a great computer for under 1K

This is the computer I just built
You probably won't need i7 3770k and the CPU cooler if you aren't going to overclock. Replacing the CPU with an i5 3550 and the CPU cooler with the stock one will save you ~230$ (compared to my setup).
I picked an Intel SSD, but they are plenty more cheaper models. The M4 Crucial is going for around 100-120$ for 126GB and 200-250$ for 256GB. I would use this to install your OS + application over a HDD. (That would save you between 100-250$ compared to my setup.)
The motherboard I picked has a built-in wifi, but they are cheaper models of the same motherboard who offers built-in wifi. I picked the DELUXE because of how the I/O was configured. (This would save you around 100$.)
I picked 2x GTX 680 for my GPU, but it seems like the GTX 670 perform as good as the 680 and is about 150$ cheaper. You could always wait and get a GTX 660.

2 680s for 1080p? Well I guess I can see why you'd want them for a 120hz monitor. How do they perform in the games you play? Above 120fps at all times?
Comment has been collapsed.
Depends on the games, setting I use and if 3D is on.

Well ofcourse, I was just assuming the power of 680s was able to push 120fps in majority of games, disregarding games such as Metro/Crysis. How is 3D by the way? Is it worth the performance hit?

I tried Batman on low quality, high and high 3D and without 3D it doesn't seem like the same game.

Seeing so many good Pc builds makes me think when will I be able to afford one :(

You might want to check out reddit's subreddit, /r/buildapc they have some good advice and can help you finish your build.

For $2000 you have a lot of options and whatever you build is going to be a beast. With my build I even left $500 for keyboard, monitors, and whatever else you need. There is even room to drop in another 680 should you ever need more power (and if that is anytime soon: wtf are you doing?).

Dell has proprietary BS that makes it hard to upgrade anything. Their cases and motherboards are notorious for this which makes it hard to swap out either if you need.

i7 has hyperthread, which is 8 cores instead of 4, which is useless if you are gaming.

Depending on your OS, having too much RAM will be useless. Check the specs!
As for your CPU, I recommend AMD. Say what you will guys, I stand by the fact that AMD is cheaper than Intel and there's no quality difference - you pay for the name. Also the i7 is slowly evolving... not so long ago the best i7 was 2.3 GhZ.
I bought an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @3.20 GhZ (total of 19.2 GhZ or so) and it only cost me 180 euros on Amazon. They're true cores by the way; each core is a standalone CPU. It's the black edition, which is meant to be overclocked. My only problem is that the fan that goes on the CPU (I don't remember the specific name :/) makes A LOT of noise. It could give you a headache.
You can also get the 1100T for slightly more GhZ or an eight-core. I honestly don't know much about CPUs, but the Bulldozer technology was installed on the newer AMD models, and I think there's already a newer technology being installed.
I wouldn't recommend liquid cooling. If there's a puncture in the cables, your whole PC is toast. Fans do their work fine, if you know how to install them (there's this whole intake/outtake thing).
Finally, the motherboard you linked to supports SLI/CrossFire, so you might wanna grab a second of that GPU.

At first the Benchmark for all high end CPUs Benchmark
Your CPU is not even slightly on par with the new Ivy Bridge CPUs and please stop multiplying the GHz.
And I too was a fan of AMD CPUs, but the new ones are just crap, a i7 3770k is far better than any AMD CPU and only costs about 350$.
And you can easily overclock the 3770k to 4.2Ghz ~ 4.5GHz.

Slow down and break your lines. Do you know how fast I was reading? Oo
Anyway. I don't need a super-computer meant for calculating my rocket ship trajectory for a full year around the universe. Or do my taxes like I'm Bill Gates or something. I just want to play games, and I'm not gonna invest in a 3000$ CPU =).
I don't see your biff (or is it beef?) with the multiplication of GhZ. When we're talking about six independent cores, there shouldn't be any problem. If there is, it's not gonna do much harm; most people won't ever need this knowledge and can live a fulfilling life by falsely believing their GhZ is XX when it's XY.
I'm not a fan of overclocking, even when the component is meant to. One bad manipulation, and it's toast. My brother however has an AMD CPU @ about 2.7 GhZ, and apparently overclocking it can easily bring it to 7 GhZ. But what are we gonna do? Some like Intel, some like AMD.

My 2 cents are 2 sites:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/Special,6/Buyers-Guides,24/
They have complete buyers guides with options at the different prices ranges ($600,$1250,$2500) and update them every 3 months.
A good starting point is the system value comparison: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/overclock-benchmark-build-a-pc,3163.html
Depending on your level of experience of building and maintaining a computer build, the following serie of articles dating from 2007 to 2011 is rather interesting to read http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/overclock-benchmark-build-a-pc,3163.html

You see i want to make and awesome gaming PC. It's about one year i'm going to have my confirmation (if its not a word for a party in english, i dont know. Its a big party for becoming 15 here in norway) and i will probably earn 33000 nok. (5500 USD approx.) And i thought my friend and i were not going to get sucked in in that Alienware fuck, but rather go for building our own pcs.
So i need your help to get a good build, optimal and the best you can get for 2000 usd. It also needs to be kind of easy.
My experience:
Some eSATA fucking around.
Have a small-medium sized business fixing other peoples PCs (Generally boosting up PC's and reinstalling windows)
A lot lot lot of MySQL and apache stuff.
Not that mysql and apachehas anything to do with fixing PC's, but I do have logically understanding in computers and enjoy fucking around with electronics generally.
My decissions:
Case: CM Storm trooper
Main Hard Drive: ??????????? (Want around 500 r/w speed SSD ofc.)
Extra Hard Drive: 2 TB 3.5 inch 7200rpm
RAM: I don't bother, ill find something which can be combined to 8gb or more.
Display Screen: ??????????? (Something with 16:10 aspect :) Dont care if it isnt 1920x1200)
Moterboard: ASUS Z77
CPU: Intel i7 3770k Quad-Core 3.50 Ghz
GPU: GTX 680 With some real shit included
Power supply: ?????????? (i dont know much about power supply, but please suggest me something compaitble with what i already have chosen, if it matters.)
Audio Card: ?????????
Audio: ???????? (reccomend me any good headsets or speakers?)
Slots: AUX, USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA, MIC, DVD, BLUETOOTH, Blu-Ray (optional)
Keyboard: Some goodies spring buttons, and would preffer 2 or more usb outputs, with AUX and MIC autputs. Don't really care about macros. ( However i would like to have them. )
Mouse: Don't need that to be included in my build.
<h3> THANKS FOR HELPING ME PALCI! </h3>
