It's totally surprising, but it looks like G2A is trying to go more legit. They were able to get few publishers and create bundle a'la Humble Monthly.

February G2A Deal will have Superhot, Lords of the Fallen and Dirt3 and something more.

"February G2A Deal’s subscription price is only €1.50 for five wonderful games. And if you don’t want to subscribe just yet, you will always be able to test the waters with a one-time purchase for €2.50. And it goes live this Friday"
"
"Each Deal is created in close cooperation with game developers and publishers to make sure every gamer is satisfied with every pack, every month. All the keys are Steam-activated and acquired directly from developers to remove any unnecessary steps between you and your games."

Dirt 3 smells fishy (as it was removed from Steam, but maybe it was just Codemasters not wanting old game to take the spotlight from new titles?), but still, when tommorow there will be massive wave of Dirt-y Lords of the Superhot Fallen, you'll know who to blame.

Edit: Last two games are Syberia and Syberia 2.
"And when the time is right (between 12:00 – 20:00 CET (UTC+1) | 7 PM – 3AM PST (UTC+8)), we will be the first ones to give you a direct link, right here in this post. You will be just ONE CLICK AWAY FROM G2A DEAL"

Edit2: I think they screwed up times, why would they write "Deal will happen around afternoon in Europe which will be Night for America"?
Unless I missed the info Earth rotates in opposite way, so sun "travels" from west to east...

Edit3: "UPDATE

Due to technical problems we were unable to start the service at announced time. We are still working to deliver G2A Deal as fast as possible. We regret the inconvenience. Stay tuned."
So it begins...

Edit4: ALIVE
Worthy note: "You have to receive and activate those keys before 10th of April 2017. After this date, the keys will be deactivated. "

Edit5: G2A Deal's FAQ, thanks Rip777 for your comment.

Edit 6: Deal #2 to start on March 30th., games will be announced in next few days. Thanks Jaru93s. I plan to start new thread when full list of games will be announced (which shound happen before 29th, but who knows...), unless someone will decide to do it before me, no need to duplicate threads.

Not sure if it's the same for everyone, but it's better to double-check. If you used Paypal to subscribe and you unsubscribed from G2A's site, make sure to check on Paypal as well, since to me it showed the subscription was still active there.

Can't say for sure, but if you get charged, dispute the transaction and you'll easily win.

I'm trying to find logic here because:

Just unsubscribed, no fees. If you're still not confident, just deactivate the authorization from PayPal before unsubscribing on G2A

Logic is, you continue it because you expect a great deal next time and possibly even forget about subscribing because you're too much into SUPERHOT already. And then BAM! Three months later you're -7,5€ and have some crappy games from them.

Well, I'm not gonna leave them now, I want to see what happens next month. You know, the price might go up next month and I will only pay 2,49€ which will be win for me (or not if the games suck).

G2A being shady a f this bundle seems to be too good to be true. (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)

Yeah, that's a common issue. It happens even with Humble Monthly. The cancelling of a subscription on a vendor site does not necessarily or automatically cancel the payment agreement with Paypal. You should always cancel both. Always.

I doubt in their future, they probably wanted to start with something great so they can lure crapload of people and show that there can be a bundle better than any humble monthly released so far (at least for that price, which is a steal).

But I'm pretty sure that the next one won't be as good as initial one. I'd advise to unsub immediately and wait to see what G2A has to offer next.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe they'll really come up with Witcher 3 together with GTA V and Fallout 4 for 2.50 eur next, but I really doubt it :3.

Bought it and it works well (for now at least :D).

By the way, when you get the keys, you can ask for a discount for Dirt 4 and Syberia 3.
So yes, 1.50€ (+ taxes) for this bundle can be suspicious at first sight, but I assume it's purely a question of marketing. I suppose there will be a sequel for Lords of the Fallen and Superhot too, or new games from the same studios.

Humble Origin/Capcom/Ubisoft/Namco/etc Bundle did the same after all.

I just find so strange that Superhot didn't get any better deals or more high profile bundles before this one. Rest of those games I can see a point, but it's the weird one out...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Superhot might have some issues to be in other bundles like Humble. Region restrictions, taxes, conflict with Humble team, etc. I really don't know. I don't know the game, I don't know the publisher, I am clueless.

But it seems Superhot devs are about to release a card game on Steam, so...marketing.

The deal is no longer suspicious now that we know that the keys will expire. That was the part of the agreement that G2A made with publishers to get them to agree to this. It makes perfect sense.

Exactly. Keys that will expire cannot be regular keys bought with stolen CBs.
Still, it's better to unsubscribe on G2A Deal AND on PayPal (if bought with it) to avoid an hypothetical bad surprise in the future ;)

Reddit AMA (ask me anything) G2A thread:

TLDR; don't give these guys money.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

In general I agree; these guys are the scum of the earth, turning a blind eye to all the ways in which their gray markets hurt devs because they stand to profit.

But this deal actually seems like an example of them doing it the right way, getting keys direct from devs that can't be resold on G2A.

Permalink

Has any dev confirmed to be associated with the bundle (except Microids, which probably are)?

LoTF probably are, since they can sell DLC on top of it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I doubt G2A guys are that stupid to get themselves crapload of copies and sell at that price, it'd mean only a loss for them. They probably indeed made a deal with devs/publishers that agreed on that only because keys are supposed to expire on fixed date, so they know that after that date, there will be no floating copies around for 1$ each.

This is something that HB doesn't do with normal bundles that are paid for, at least from what I know. Maybe that's a reason why Superhot is so odd here - they simply wanted to get more players, but not destroy their title which bundling usually does, even monthlies, as game is forever considered "bundled" and worth almost nothing.

FYI for US buyers (about half of SG users)

Just judging from the number of entries that North America region only giveaways (which also includes Canada) get compared to global giveaways with no region restriction set, I would have to say that the portion of SG users that reside in the US would seem to be far less than half.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't think that's a great metric to use, given that most keys purchased there are region-free, but your point right is well taken nonetheless: the official stats are 17.2% of SG users are from the US, which is the largest of any country (https://www.steamgifts.com/stats/community/users). Russia is 2nd at 13.9%, and it trails off very quickly from there.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You're right about the stat being overinflated, but North Americans don't give away that many region-restricted things because 99.5% of our keys and gifts are ROW. Everyone else has to constantly navigate the nightmare of region restrictions, we don't.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I know, I was merely disputing the statement that half of SG users are in the US. Frankly, from what I have observed I'm surprised that it's even as high as ~17% and I have a feeling that many of those are inactive accounts (which the stats page does not account for).
