Having to sleep is pretty hard, and that fucker is in every game

I haven't played Wolfenstein 2009, but your comment made me think about the bosses in Return to Castle Wolfenstain. Those guys were really hard to kill and there were no strategies, no life-bars, no way to know if you were hurting them or not.

All the bosses bleed when you hurt them, expect for the ubersoldiers which emit sparks instead. Once you get the hang of it, it's just strafing and shooting until they go down.

Yes, the Titan Quest: Ragnarök Boss was really weak. Especially when you play an archer character.
A few weeks ago I played Batman Arkham Origins and Deathstroke was a real pain in the ass.
There are also several Super Bosses in Grim Dawn, even after 700+ hours of gameplay, I have only beaten like one or two of them.
A few battles in Divinity: Original Sin (1+2) are really hard, but if you know the trick, they tend to become a lot easier.
But I had real troubles with the final boss fight in Chroma Squad. It felt like the fight was never ending and I almost lost several times.

Didn't use an archer. Used the Trickster class. Rogue/Rune with a staff, poison and Thunder Strike. And over 500 INT.

Well, whenever I play Titan Quest, I think to myself: "I wanna play a damage dealing melee class". Then I find out the hard way that these ones die quickly.
Then I usually want to play a mage character. Until I remember that all the cool spells have a cooldown and I like having a strong left-click-attack.
Then I probably try out some form of melee tank. I play a while but gameplay gets really slow because of my low damage output.
Then I think "Fuck it, I'm playing another archer." :D

I'd second some of the Grim Dawn bosses. I've beat a few of them on normal difficulty and they were very difficult battles. I shudder to think what they'd be like on the harder difficulties. To make things worse, most are in single entry instances - if you die or portal out, the dungeon is completely reset and you have to obtain a new key to re-enter.

Wow. I cleared normal with veteran mode on easily. But then again, a gunslinger build, with the counter gear I was wearing, did make it a little TOO easy.

Oh yes, all the story bosses on normal were quite easy as I also played a rifle Demolitionist. But I still found Alkamos and Shar'zul to be quite difficult. Avatar of Mogdrogen clocked me so hard that I figured I'd have to try him after I leveled up a bunch in veteran. I never did get around to trying for the Port Valbury boss.
I really should go back to playing GD. It's a very fun game. I've been playing TItan Quest for the past month and it's okay, but not as good as GD.

I played a cadence soldier with some inquisitor curses and such on veteran - haven't fought Shar'zul yet, but Aklamos was really easy (apparently melee doesn't trigger some of his attacks, and being tanky helps too). On the other hand Herald of the Flame was horrible, having to fight it on eatherflame-ground. Tried to fight Rashalga, couldn't even really scratch her :D

Ludwig the Accursed in Bloodborne. Most of the bosses went down pretty quickly for me but Ludwig took me so long it was actually annoying me :O

Is Bane harder, than Deathstroke?? I wasn't able to beat this bastard. But it was very hard and interesting battle. And in terms of plot I like, how he suddenly attacks Batman.

Deathstroke is harder, especially if you're going for the flawless victory achievement. Difficult to get especially on the hardest difficulty, but very satisfying if you do. You actually get to fight him again way later in the game if you go for full completion, but then he's much lamer because it's a tank battle.

Probably because there's a trick to dodging his charge attacks, which takes a while to master (you can't just roll out of the way as soon as you see him start, like you could in Asylum). If you don't, the battle is over real soon because he does a ton of damage. That and his minions take potshots at you while you're beating him up, like clockwork, so you really have to take care of those.
I'm assuming you're talking about the rooftop fight; the second fight you have with him is more annoying than challenging.

Hardest? Mhh, probably the last battle from Brütal Legend, got me so frustrated that I gave up and never bothered to finish the game since. That game has a weird difficulty spike towards the end that comes out of nowhere and turns the last few misions into a chore.
I also remember the last boss from Electronic Super Joy being one of the most annoying things I had to deal with.
On the subject of dissapointments I have to include the Joker from Batman Arkham Asylum, it not only is a bad boss in terms of plot, theme and mechanicaly, but it also managed to be the only thing in the game that broke and required me to restart the fight for it to get fixed. And the final boss from Saints Row IV that got stuck in geometry so the supposedly tense fight boiled down to me spaming shots at an immobile target that kept going on with its banter despite not moving an inch for most of the fight.

Two enemies working together in Dark Souls. You know who. You still have nightmares about them

The only thing I found hard about them was the climb outside the building to get to them.

Hardest I can think of right now is the first fight with Alma in the Xbox Ninja Gaiden. When you get to that point, you probably think the game puts up a fairly stiff challenge. And then the gloves come off.

Thomas Magruder, Gun (PS2).
Ares, God of War 1 (PS2), doable but still a frustratingly difficult fight, especially on higher difficulties.
Hulao Gate Lu Bu (Dynasty Warriors Games), when he appears, just run for your life.
Nemesis, Spartan Total Warrior (PS2), I was stuck on that boss and had to give up on an otherwise pretty good A-RPG.
Redbeard, Avadon 1, (PC) : Just forget it.
Gedna Relvel, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, (PC).

Isaac Frost from Fight Night Champion. I seriously just quit the game and never finished it.

So I FINALLY cleared Titan Quest on normal difficulty for the first time after having the game for YEARS. I was specifically told that the final boss in the Ragnarok expansion was supposed to be one of the hardest bosses. I was LIED to. That boss was WAY too easy and I wasn't even a high level. Needless to say, I was sorely disappointed.
But I digress.
So it got me thinking, as usual.
What was the single HARDEST boss you ever fought in a game? One that gave you nightmares and possible need for therapy afterwards.
Might take me a bit to remember some of mine so please feel free to add in yours.
