This story begins in April of 2019 when I purchases MH World for 50% (it was $29,99 then).

The first time I played it I got to some desert area, got overwhelmed with all those things, and dropped for a bit. Then 6 months later I decided to give it another go and this time I ended up being worse at it compared to before.

Then a year left I reinstalled it and didn't pass the first area.

The last time I played it (2 months ago) I found out that they added some overpowered armor that pretty much turn the game into easy mode.

Now, every once in a while I'll stumble on someone randomly on Steam and if they played MH World, they usually have around 200-500 hours in it. So clearly the game is fun and this is all just a "me" issue.

So for any veterans of MH World here on SG.......what do I need to do? How to play? I have no idea how to start and what's the playing path in these games. This is clearly a great game that is (undeservingly) collecting dust on my virtual shelf and I want to fix that.

I can tell you my path of MH World. When it got announced that it will come to PC, I was hyped as hell. I got no money tho, so I watched many Streams about it and pushed my hype even further. When it got reduced in price I bought it and rushed playing it. I wanted to try all of the weapons, that was a mistake from start, cuz that wont help you pushing trough the story. I got suited to hammer and dual blades for a very long time. I would say like 200h i played both. In the end I can tell you, you can play the game alone or with friends - but is fun. The graphics and the variaty of habitates makes the game very interesting. It is very grindy, ofc but you will see, not every fight is the same.

TBH, if you need to be convinced to play a game maybe the game isn't for you (I say that as a MHW fan).

Don't use the overpowered armour though, it only carries you through the base game but then after you reach the difficult fight you get stomped hard since by then the armour becomes mediocre and you might not have learned all the tricks and mechanics of the game since the armour carried you through the easier parts.
