In most cases UK comedies are much better than US sitcoms in my opinion

Never been a fan of The Big Bang Theory, but Seinfeld would definitely be superior to it in every way. You might also want to check out The IT Crowd and The Office (Preferably UK version).

You should definitely try Friends :)

Parks and Recreation, Peep Show (if you like miserable British comedy)....these are my top two of this decade.

There are plenty other good one but I forget.

I'd recommend for new show,s Braindead, Vice Principles, Roadies, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll .. I think the funniest at the moment is 'Wrecked' with Braindead a close second

If you like The big bang theory and Two and a half men for the jokes, it's worth watching Dharma and Greg the same creator co created it.
If you like The big bang theory for it's geekiness, it's worth watching The IT crowd a hilarious British sitcom.
Here are some other recommendations (some are old but great): Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm, Frasier, My name is Earl, Father Ted (British), Black Books (British)
If you like Animated comedy shows: The simpsons, Futurama (both family friendly), Family guy, American dad (not so much family friendly), and Rick and Morty.

Get Smart - Its an old show but if you really like comedy with a good story this one is for you
