I was the same, thou now i have only Borderlands 2 left ,i guess Indies give you more fun in shorter period of time(Theoretically)for example Its fun to finish a campaign and find out how story ends, thou it might take a lot of time... that might be answer

There's sometimes more variety in indies. Also, more emphasis can be placed on story and originality without the focus on graphics etc

True that. If you take EA for example this year, all their games released are just a new version of the same games they've already released. In their attempts to grab a larger share of the money, the triple publishers are playing it safe and only releasing games that are known to sell based on their popularity and brand awareness.
Indie developers on the other hand, mostly, have nothing to lose by trying something new, exciting and different. Without a large user base to annoy, no lack of sales or staff/share holders to worry about, they are free to explore what ever strange and whacky ideas that they can think of.
For every awesome indie game, there is probably at least 10 bad ones :(
Mostly, I play indie and arcade titles because they're fun, short/pickup & play and, often action packed, or give me something different then the main stream offers. AAA titles seem to be more the same dribble extended over yet more hours.

Agreed!
One other reason I play indies is cause my PC can handle them at highest settings :P

They don't have business heads telling them what to do in order to make money, regardless of how "fun" the game will end up to be.

+1
Expectations are very important. For example, I was expecting something mind blowing from Limbo and I was let down. I still think it's a good game but not as excellent as everyone was making it out to be.
But from games like The Ball, Puzzle Bots or Blackwell Series I didn't expect any excellence and I was very surprised when they turned out to be way better than I expected.
It's like with Duke Nukem Forever. I don't think the game is really that bad but people just were expecting some kind of perfection from a game which was 10+ years in the development. What they got was a mediocre shooter so they'd just say it sucks and is a complete let down.

It is quite obvious if you think about it, most AAA games built on the same architecture and pretty much the the same features to appeal the mainstream, and so they don't even need to try too hard to make something special in order for it to sell, so they simply stick with the old platform. Indie on the other hand, unless they make something unique and special they wouldn't be able to sell well, so they pour they're sweat and blood making something really attractive without the mainstream features. And because indie are not forced to stick with the old platform, then you can encounter some really unique games which makes it even better.

Even though I tend to hate on indies because I don't find them impressive (usually) I always end up liking them anyway after I try them

It's not for being a indie, or a AAA game that makes the game good. If a game is developed and produced to a rich, and immerse experience, people WILL like it, whatever the type of game. See this Interview, and focus on "forge trust with gamers and deliver a solid, reliable product". They did it, and some other developers also did it with their games.

Familiarity causes an ability to discern 'quality'. When you were a new gamer, you played games and you could tell the REALLY bad games from the good ones, but didn't have much of an ability to discriminate much beyond that. As you play more games, you get a better sense of what a 'good' game is, and you start to appreciate games on more levels. In time, you realize the games you played originally, while not 'bad' per se, were not the amazing experience you believed they were at the time, and that smaller more creative and innovative games can be better. I like to compare it to wine tasters. The first time you taste wine it tastes like grape flavored vinegar. After a while you begin to appreciate the taste. After an even longer while, you begin to be able to discern multiple flavors in a glass of wine, and can tell when one bottle is better than another, and why. All because you've become increasingly familiar with wine.

After checkin some indies, it came to my mind that Indies are even more fun than High end super ultra 20GB action realistic simulator games that i used to play while ago!
Back in the days i was enjoying cool ghraphic and/or legendary story etc.
How can a small Indie now give so much fun?
Or mybe now its a hipster thing:D?
