What about ram?

Are both 16gb?

Knowing the laptop models would also help to pinpoint which is best.

honestly both are powerful enough for any task, and gaming wise I imagine the difference is gonna be in single digit FPS difference.

https://nanoreview.net/en/laptop-compare/acer-nitro-5-an517-54-vs-acer-nitro-5-an515-55?m=c.3_g.2_r.1-and-c.1_g.2_r.2

I assume these are the models, there is one small issue, the screen size. I assume the details might be mixed on the store you are looking at or the website i am using to compare mixed the screen size values on both models.

But yeah, first option is better long term. Second option offers less vram, 4gb ain't good enough. 6GB is recommended imo. Both GPUs are capable enough to handle gaming, CPU isn't that much of a big deal here if we talk about gaming and some work potential.

Given that GPU and CPU is a similar trade off, the pricing should be somewhat obvious between the two, but local pricing is different per country, so it might be cheap or expensive for you, depends on alot of stuff.

I would go with the first one. However, you might want to think about how important portability is. A 15.6" screen is a lot easier to lug around (and find bags and cases it will fit in) than a 17.3" one.

Also keep in mind that if they want it to be portable, more powerful components usually require more electricity, so be sure to also check how long should the battery last.

Both will suit her great, if it is just for gaming, go with the first one for the exact reasons you mentioned. I only would go with the second if she wants to do work like video rendering, heavy programming, etc. on it.

Both look great but you should check other things too like are they aluminium based chassis, are they easy to open and clean from dust? How much warranty you can get? I repair a lot of laptops and i find those questions critical...

RTX 3060 is quite a bit more performant than RTX 3050Ti, whereas the difference between CPUs is virtually non existent. If performance is what you want to go for, 1 is an easy pick

Ah, my bad, thought the second i5 was 10400h, but it's an 11th gen. But I'd go for beefier GPU anyway
