[Tier 1] A triplet of X games for a dollar!
[Tier 3 / BTA-risen-above-T3] I have always wanted to play EVE:Offline, and it's sure cheaper here than buying it anywhere else.
[Tier 1 Complaint] Back in 2013 (!), the Tier 1 also included X3: Reunion. That's a drop in serving sizes if I've ever seen one.
[BTA Complaint] X Rebirth doesn't even include the second expansion from 2016. What's this, ordering half a hamburger?
[Tier 3 Complaint] Okay, so X4 gets one expansion every March. Shouldn't they at least deliver the two older ones (2020, 2021) and a coupon for the newest 2022 DLC, rather than just the 2020 one and a coupon for the 2021 expansion? This feels like the ketchup's missing!
[Have] Been there, bought that. Don't need a refill.
[Genre Complaint] I just can't see the appeal to managing interstellar empires.
[Lewd Complaintato] You can keep your X games. Call me when you have XXX games.

Tier 1 isn't bad, but have most of it and the prices for bta and Tier 3 are too high.

A base game/dlc question for the following situation, if anyone knows:

1: tried adding DLC key, steam says you need base game
2: added base game key, DLC shows up aswell

Q: was the DLC key "used" or did the base game come with the DLC? o.o;; (this happened with X4 and split vendetta DLC)

If you didn't try to redeem the DLC again after you redeemed the base game, then the only valid option is that the base included the DLC already.
However, the X4: Foundations sub does not include any DLC, so you should have the base game only if you did only those 2 steps.

It's easier if you check your licenses page and see exactly what you activated (if the DLC is present as a separate entry, then the DLC key was redeemed, meaning that you tried to activate it again after you redeemed the base.

Thanks for the explanation, it is listed as a separate entry, so the key may have been used somehow (my SO doesn't think he did, but perhaps he remembered wrong).

I could be wrong, it's been ages since I've dealt with this myself, but what I remember was that if you use a DLC key, it gets activated even if you don't own the base game, but it warns you that you need the base game to use it. So, when you activate a DLC key, you still "own" the DLC, you just can't actually USE the DLC until the base game gets added to your account as well.

The message telling me I needed a base game made me think the DLC was unused, but what you said makes sense, cheers!

For the older games, newer subs are delivered, but they have the same content as the store sub apart from X Rebirth.
If you have X Rebirth from a store purchase, you'll be able to activate the key from this bundle on top of it, wasting it in the process (it doesn't add anything useful apart from one extra depot).

Thanks for these tables, with their "new" layout HB's own page is useless for finding out what's in each tier, garbage design.
I think I'll give the series a try for $1, but higher tiers is a bit too much for unknown territory.

If you ever played Wing Commander or Privateer (or Star Citizen without the multiplayer aspect) but wished that you could own and operate entire space stations and galaxy-wide businesses while still flying around space in your ship, then this is the game (series) for you. I currently have everything except the VR version of Rebirth (and all the X4 stuff), and I'm still debating getting this. Just the stuff I'm missing (which this doesn't cover 100%) is about $185 to complete my collection. Yikes. I just wish they had a demo version, I believe a lot more people would enjoy this series if they could try it before buying it. The $1 deal is a great idea, but not very many people know (or care) about Humble.
