According to my friends, way to many, since I can't really use them enough or at all in many cases. But I'd like to learn as much as possible. I can watch any TV channel, read any book, watch any movie, can easily play a game with several languages. My goal is 50. Since I am able to learn them quite easily , I am confident in achieving that goal at some point (talking only about fluent knowledge of them, not just enough to say hi and such, and to speak them naturally not as an obvious foreigner). Only deciding which to learn next is hard. I already know many European, several Asian and South American. Even Latin :) <- no clue where am I gonna use it though.
My first foreign languages was British English. Then French, Spanish and Italian and others. Then back to English, since I was not satisfied with my knowledge. At that point I discovered other languages and variations on The Island and continued with them (my English is unfortunatelly still my weakest of all the languages, because at first my level was far above average, but still not enough for any sort of situation. Then many years passed before I went back to it for improvement, which is still ongoing.). From there I went global starting with Russian and Japanese. Tip, if you really want to learn the language, visit a country that speaks it. Trust me, it helps a lot. I doubt my Japanese could be 10% as good without the trip. Tip 2, sometimes you stumble upon a language that seems too hard. Find out if there is a similar language that is easier to learn and learn it first. I'm sure many wouldn't agree with this method, but I find it quite useful as so many languages have a lot in common. Then you just work on the differences and the details.
At all times I am trying to improve on each of the ones I learned. Currently, since I can't decide which to start learning next, I am only working on funnies. I call funnies, languages that are extinct or sci-fi made up. Latin falls in here. So currently, Klingon from Star Trek (can come in handy when watching or playing something in that universe) and old Egyptian (I find it very nice, plus the Hieroglyphs are cool, but its going slow; uhm, useful in Serious Sam?). I should learn one computer language, like C++, as the poster above.
Favourite 5 (no real order): French, British Isles languages (so I don't have to choose between all the sexy lingos spoken on The Island; I love them all), Russian, Japanese and ..., my indecisiveness, lets just call it top 4.
My favourite game related lingo moments (apart from always knowing what the Nazi Germans say or the Russians, and so on): I bought a cardboard boxed retail version of Outcast in between 2000-2002. There was a dictionary in the manual, translations of several local words in English. I took a whole month, before starting the game, to learn the language. The feeling of understanding the natives in the game was priceless.

EDIT: Sorry for the lengthy post. I don't know what was I thinking.
