Happy Birthday to you AND your sister. I'm new-ish too, so I can't offer any suggestions or advice on trains. As for getting something nice for your sister, I do agree that is is the thought that counts rather than the value, so make her something. And if you don't think you're a good artist, maybe find something related to Sailor Moon on Etsy that you can buy her and at least make her a card to go with it? My other suggestion, as an animal lover myself, would be to make a donation in her name to a local animal rescue and "give" her that? I'm not saying these are good ideas, but they're things I would appreciate if I were your sister. :)

She has 3 Cats and one Dog. She is tied up at the moment. As much as she loves animals...She can't really afford another pet. But I am sure plushes wouldn't hurt. Since they don't need to be fed or maintained much.
She is a good Animal advocate with a big heart but within her means? I don't think her hubby would allow that to happen. She has enough "KIDS" as is haha.
Kids as in pets.

OHHHH MAN OH MAN OH MAN. One of my bucket lists ideas before I pass from this mortal coil. I would if I could but... Too expensive in Michigan. There is no services offering such under $100.
But totes on your idea man. I would love to one day feel the Terminal Velocity just once soaring up in the sky falling down and opening the chute to glide safely down to earth.
My sister? I don't think she would go for it. Too risky.

A giant teddy bear could be a nice gift, even for your sister, I guess.
Happy birthday, and good luck with your train, mate :)

Happy Early Birthday to you and your sister. Perhaps you could get her something that combines all her interests - like an art piece involving animals with a gothic theme. If you can't draw well (you should still give it a shot!) you can try making a picture collage or something of the sort perhaps. And maybe use that art and get it on a shirt or something for her. Your other ideas are certainly great, too (and who says you can't do both?).

Definitely go for Sailor Moon stuff :) And maybe instead of the shirt, how about some mini Nightmare Before Christmas Tsum Tsum?

I loooove those plushies :3

Everyone should have gotten a +1 on their Whitelist from me thus far for those who posted in this thread. Also Thanks Geoglitch for the idea. Right now though. I don't think they have it available online for me at the moment for Jack Skellington.

I find that a cool gift to get people is to buy them an experience instead of an item. It's different than what they normally get and also it forces them to do something they'd be interested in but always put off for some reason or another.
For instance, someone might always want to sky dive but just keep putting it off and making excuses not to go. By buying them a skydiving ticket they have to do it! All the excuses are wiped away.
So you could get your sister tickets to a nearby zoo. Especially if you have something where she can interact with the animals nearby like horse riding or seaworld/swimming with dolphins type thing.
You could also buy her painting/drawing classes at your local community college.

Depending on how much money you want to spend you can go with ... http://www.hammacher.com/Product/Default.aspx?sku=87427&refsku=86006
or if funds are tight.... http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/steal-like-an-artist-austin-kleon/1110782807

Likes anything Gothic or Sailor Moon stuff. Fruit Basket even!
Well if she is into anime like Sailor Moon and Fruits Basket, it would definitely make a special gift if you gave her a DVD of:

Happy Birthday to both you and your twin sister. :)
As far as shopping, I'm the worst gift giver ever, so any advice from me would only lead to her disowning you. :X
Just out of curiosity, do you get two cakes on your birthdays or do you share one? I'd push for two. :X

Well, if she's artist-y and goth-y, has she discovered Neil Gaiman yet? If she doesn't know Gaiman's Sandman comics, you might want to get her started on those. They're collected in all sorts of editions, you could pick up the first couple of volume and send her off on one hell of a journey.

Maybe you can give her costume for animals :D
Sailor moon or Gothic theme for animals.
Sailor moon one is so cuuuute : google image
Cake with sailor moon..
Some home made poster for her room / work room. You can do some digital work for the poster, then print them. Make it different by frame or something else.
I have sister who love anime and she is talented graphic artist too.
Besides that, she loves Avril and emo.
Just like you, last birthday i gave her some paint tools.
I got her several posters too in her bed room, 1 of them is picture below.
I print and laminate them then frame them with impraboard. She love it so much ^^ and I satisfied with them :D
I can give her something else, but i just love when i put my work / give more effort to her gifts :)

Happy early birthday to you and your sister!
I'm never good at buying gifts, I just prefer to give money so the person can buy whatever they like, so you won't find any useful suggestions from me.

Trains are a pain but worth it if you like getting crapton of comments. I highly recommend setting up all your gibs to start at least a day in advance so you can edit in all the links (this isn't necessary if the train is "invite only"). Double check that they are "invite-only" otherwise one public GA can introduce everyone to your train - that is if you're doing a forum invite-only train. Don't make the train longer than you have the patience for checking out winners - yeah, SGtools is your friend. Create a spreadsheet with all your GA links - it makes it much easier to set up the links later on. Check out the formatting to use "next" but if you're too lazy to format, just paste the next link from your spreadsheet. If you don't want a crapton of thanks, say so in the text. Alternately, if you want funny gifs - go for it and say so. Make sure your gibs are set for a long enough interval - like a week. Make sure the gibs end on a day when you'll have time to send all the gibs. Add a link to the post where you advertise your train to the last gib and ask peeps to bump the thread (I always forget this one!). Lastly, have fun!

There is a site called DeepArt where you take your own photo and use the site's own art pattern, or upload your own art pattern, to cover that photo and make new art! You can order a real canvas of your own creation for a fee. Click youtube video below, kinda off topic, and the youtuber explains how DeepArt works.

Deep Art Website: https://deepart.io/
My quick example(DeepArt.io watermark will not appear when you buy your own creation):
I uploaded a scene from sailor moon from Google Images and combined with the provided Van Gogh painting style.

For all the folks of SG that like to win games. In the month of July I will be doing my first ever train....
Too be honest. I am new at making such things. Would love to ask for tips on how to create some.
Also... On the 30th it happens to be my Twin Sister's birthday as well...Stumped on trying to figure out what to get her though.
This is what my Twin sis is like....
-Loves Animals
-Talented Artist
-Likes anything Gothic or Sailor Moon stuff. Fruit Basket even!
Last year on our 25th Bday I got her an Artists stand with painters canvas with water colors/Oil paints but this time I like to get her something different. I thought of getting her the whole season of the Classic Sailor Moon series (American/Jap Version), A Nightmare before Christmas Shirt of Jack Skellington. But tell me your suggestions below.
