I got preference for joystick, but there are games that are just to be played with keyboard and mouse.

Depends on game. Play using both and don't see a problem other people using their different methods.

I prefer a gamepad

Keyboard+Mouse for anything with aiming, RTS, Point'n'Click games.
Gamepad for pretty much everything else, especially stuff like Super Meat Boy. Gamepad is better for many games.

I rarely use joysticks, they are good for flying simulators.

Who in their right mind would use joysticks for anything else than flight simulators?
Nevermind I'm retarded

On Topic: This thread has been made multiple times and IMO we should sticky one of these threads so that thread can be bumped with answers rather than one of these being created every 2-3 days. I use M+KB for everything except 3rd person games and the very few driving games I do play.
€: Oh, and Castle Crashers and Ys, but they would fall in the 'exceptions' category that I just created.

It depends on the type of game. Sidescrollers, Turn Based RPGs, Hack and Slashes, Fighters, and console emulators typically see me using a Joystick, most other games are keyboard and mouse. There's some exceptions, but that's how it goes for the most part.

I use a wired 360 gamepad for my PC gaming whenever possible. I grew up a console gamer, and I'll continue to be one. Even use the PC on the same screen as my 360.

I don't think there's any sort of gameplay that's better with a controller than with a M+KB. And it's sad to see that so many developers fail to make proper M+KB controls. I imagine that people in the future will look back at this time and think: "Were those people crazy? They played their games with inferior control systems for no logical reason..."

pressure sensitivity.
for some games, this is vital and KB+M doesn't cut it.
I'm mostly a KB/M person though -- even with racing/driving games.

Both as some games can really only be played with a KB&M but in most cases i use my Ps3 Controller via MotioninJoy

Of course FPS's are better with mouse and keyboard on PC but platformers, RPG's, racing, sports games and many more are better with gamepad (I think that's what he meant to say)!

I have always played RPG with mouse and keyboard and I always got on well! Of course Joystick it's better for some games(such as sports games), but I never play those.

Joystick? What is this the 90's? o_O

Given my extremely limited choice, I'll go with the keyboard and mouse thanks.
