I always loved games with indirect controls or even idle games. Something where you set up something and then the game plays by itself and you see what it will turn out.
Something like Majesty (it has a lot of control though). Idle games like Progress Quest. Or many flash idle games. Where it runs by itself minimized and you check it up when you have the spare minute to buy some upgrades and then the game goes on by itself.
I always wanted this kind of little game, some kind of Diablo clone where the character travels and kills hordes of enemies, collects loot, uses skills, all by himself.
Me, as a player, would choose what to equip, which skills to level up, set up the character's tactics, something like gambits set up in Final Fantasy XII. And then the character would go on with his little journey of his own. I always wanted a game like Progress Quest, but with more control over the character's equipment, skills and tactics, with nice 2d graphics in a small window so it could run minimized and use only a small amount of PC resources.
I know it's an odd wish since the majority of players want to actually play the game, not watch it, but still I really like this idea of a more complex Progress Quest which I've been running for several years already.

Your number 2 is my number 1 dream game.
Also:
-Herectic III (with both first person and third person)
-Completely alinear and procedural rpg with plot and dialogue; maybe some day with 'true' AI
-A time traveller sim; Whenever you go to a point in the past and jump decades ahead it would 'simulate' the changes and change map/npcs accordingly

1) An original, non-spinoff/sequel Final Fantasy game that goes back to 2D and turn-based combat and is just as good as FFVI (or even IV/V, even though most people I know hate V). Or a FFVI prequel that focuses on the War of the Magi.
2) StarTropics 3. A StarTropics in 3D would be pretty cool, I think.
3) Shadow Hearts series to continue. Forget 3 ever happened.
4) A Xenogears/Xenosaga continuation since there were supposed to be 6 episodes altogether. Or a Xenogears remake.
5) Suikoden VI.
6) Rogue Galaxy 2.
7) New Chrono game. Most people hated Chrono Cross. I enjoyed it more than Chrono Trigger. shrugs
8) Legend of Dragoon 2.
9) More RPGs that feature traditional turn-based combat - that aren't RPG Maker games.
10) A full length, epic RPG focusing on the Cthulhu mythos/H.P. Lovecraft. Not playing as Cthulhu as Cthulhu Saves The World did, but the opposite.
11) A game based off of the Demonata book series.
Can think of tons more, but I'll leave it at that... Too bad I know some of these will never happen though.

Also, a full RPG (with stats, builds, classes etc) but with some kind of Devil May cry 3 gameplay, fast passed combo action thing.
and singleplayr, fuck multi or online or PvP, a nice action packed singleplayer RPG.

I would love if Fantasy Flight Games put out a video game of their board game Arkaham Horror, and would appreciate all the rest of their board and card games as well. I don't want something fancy, just something with the look and feel of a board game, like the various Monopoly and Life games and whatnot that come up occasionally, but video-game-ized. I'd love this for the ease of setup, cleanup, etc, for the fact that it would be much harder to accidentally skip steps or forget rules, and if it were on Steam, for workshop support. Alas, I fear it will never be.

I've been wondering about this for ages - why won't anyone make an entire world with real solar systems and real planets to conquer, and real people to rule them? I mean, just imagine - first ones to play the game (admins, maybe) would be the ones ruling our Solar System, and the other ones who register after would have access to farther planets like Alpha Centauri Bb from the nearest solar system. They would maybe like to go in explorations and try to conquer our Earth or themselves, or maybe entire solar systems. And if you stop managing your planet or maybe a bunch of planets and just forget about the game, someone would have enough impudence to knock you out of the planet and let you just flow somewhere in space in your spaceship, giving you time to make plans of revenge or conquering the world. Wouldn't that be great? I mean, it's not that hard, considering all the MMOs that the Internet has and could use them to make something like this instead of some fantasy worlds

But by the other side, consider the safety needed. You wouldn't really wanna have cheaters in such a game...

I always wanted a Star Wars GTA in Coruscant, where you can also travel to a few other planets like Kamino, Bespin,...

1.) Half Life 3
2.) E3 2010 version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
3.) E3 2011 version of Aliens Colonial Marines
Basically, my dreams have either been teased or haven't even happened yet. Not cool.
