So I learned two things from last week's nono puzzles.

1. The picture has to be pretty obvious or else it looks like a bunch of blocks. That was my bad. I tried harder to make these pictures more obvious.
2. Stop trying to make the picture START with the character in question. Each clue below consists of the length of each answer. The X is the character needed for the code.

Option 1: Easier nonos, harder to guess picture.

All letters are capitals this time and all numbers are... well, numbers.

Mammal -X---
Generally, this is a thing. What is the name of THIS particular thing, though? X---- -----
Small creature -X---
Sport X------- or Olympic event X------ Convert this letter to its number position in the alphabet
The last character in the code is same as the second.

Option 2: Harder nono, easier to guess picture (22x20)

Make this plural.

fourth letter
third letter
Convert third letter to its number position in the alphabet, half it, then round up if necessary.
