Nonfantasy rpgs and turnbased stuff! And adventure/rpgs like quest for glory.

The Run Factory genre, lacking the proper vocabulary.

RTS! This genre is dead. Now we only have tactical games like Total War series or games like Starcraft where player (most probably from Korea) with highest APM(Action Per minute) wins e.g Starcraft. I want game where i can build buildings, defences and rushing is suicide. Where's new AoE? Age of Mythology? Warlords:Battlecry? :|

That's mainly because RTSs are boring as hell games where you spawn toons from buildings and send them to the other side of the map and then all over again for half an hour.

I'd love to see more point & click adventures. The non-action ones. I think that the closest we have to point & click adventures are Hidden Object games, but that's just not the same.
That, and stealth games, as some people already mentioned. We sure could use more pure stealth games, like the old Splinter Cell and such.

The Evil Within is an upcoming and promising title. You can headshot the monsters but can't kill them unless you set them on fire with one of your matches. And you can only carry 5 matches at a same time. Maybe that's the kind of game you're waiting for? :)

Not really a genre, but a setting. Pirate/colonial games.

I would love to see an openworld detective type game. I think that would be awesome. I've never done too much looking into if there are any though, so if anyone knows of some, please let me know! Also, if you haven't played it yet, KeeperRL is a pretty awesome God-Type game, and it's free, so it is good to waste some time on.

You know, I've heard about it a lot, but I've never really looked at it. Thank you!

Urban Chaos is one, so is LA Noire, both are great.
I would go so far as to say Fallout New Vegas counts also, the main quest is basically a detective quest to a point and many of the sides quests have you solving things or finding people.

What genres do you highly enjoy but not see enough of?
For me a personal favorite is God games and i wish there were more.
