I don't have any funny blacklist stories but I awkwardly have two people on my whitelist that have me blacklisted. I don't think they know who they are, but I think they are cool people so I don't want to remove them :P

I get blacklisted when I'm straight down the line of some of the more controversial topics. If you don't enthusiastically agree with someone, you're consenting to their blacklist. Though if you do enthusiastically agree, you're gonna get blacklisted by their opponents. Are you sure the blacklists are because of your opinions? It seems like you are slightly more likely to be blacklisted than most, due to your "giveaways entered vs. games given away" ratio.

It's safe to say that if you have a bad ratio, you are likely to be blacklisted occasionally.
And as far as contributing to the community: it's great if you contribute to discussions, but some would probably argue that by only giving away one game in two years -- while entering to win more than 9,000 -- you might not quite be getting the true spirit of the site.
If you're comfortable with your contribution to the community, your best bet is to just ignore the blacklists as much as possible.

I'd argue that the true spirit of the site is split down the middle between giving and receiving games. If the true goal is to give as much as you get, then you may as well forgo this site altogether and just purchase exactly what you want when you want. More likely that this site is for winning a bunch of games for nothing more than your time, or give a bunch of games (especially if you buy crap-tons of mediocre bundles).
And actually, the best way to get as few blacklists as possible is to just not comment on anything ever :) I only have 9 blacklists and nearly all of them are from this month when I started making comments. Oh well.

No funny stories, though nearly every blacklist I've been put on was by people that were apparently mad at me for making a unbundled games giveaway train with sgtools rules they couldn't pass. Though a lot of people also whitelisted me for it :)

I got my first blacklist on my first day giving away games. I picked three from my unredeemed Humble Bundle items, and one of them was a 0 CV/0 points game. (Back when there wasn't an indicator at the game selection menu.) I also had 0 wins, so it's not like I was a leech. But someone must not have liked seeing that, for some reason. I got a bunch more for wading into a drama/shitpost. I started with an anodyne opinion, but got baited into an exchange that got a little heated. Lesson learned, avoid off-topic.

Well, yeah, that's why I'm trying to stay away from giveaways. I prefer giving over taking, so, unless I giveaway 100 of games, I will keep my profile low. Poor you though.

Also fun fact, you can actually get a free copy of Borderlands 1 without the DLC.

Under Steam tools, they have a Borderlands Granting tool. With it, if you have a physical disc, it adds a copy of Borderlands 1 to your steam account.
But you can use a Disc Emulator like Daemon Tools and a mini-disc image that is only about 1.5 MB and it will pass and give you the free copy. They have it online and you can find it with a quick google.

Nope, I get an error 1000 "Please insert the original disc instead of a backup". Can you share that mini-disc image to me, maybe you have a different one. I used this link.

You have to have the CD Emulator setup for it, try a different site if you need.
Don't have it on me anymore. Since then, I purchased the full set and haven't had it for years.
The image on the site looks right, I am thinking it is the disc emulator setup you are using.
Edit: You are making sure it is an IDE drive you are emulating, correct?
And the SPTD driver. Not sure if it works on Windows 10, I did it on Windows 7.

You're right. My previously installed Daemon Tools didn't have SPTD installed that's why I got that error. But now after reinstalling along with SPTD I have this error "There was a problem while attempting to convert to Steam. This could be your connection to Steam, or an internet timeout. Please try again later - if the problem persists, reach out to support.2k.com".
I've googled and seen many people having the same issue.

Edit: Worked! After I ran the granting tool with win 7 compatibility and running it as admin :o

for sure, bl2 might be my top fave game ever. always a blast to go back to now n then, esp with friends. one of those games that is great even when I'm just looking for something low effort n chill to play, yet doesn't fail to bring the challenge as well when needed. I have a great time even just roaming between other people's games just to help out with my maxed out perfect gear mechro. just playing is fun, almost more relieving once I didn't have to try for drops on her. got chars of every other type as well spread across the levels depending on my mood of who/what level could use a hand. even my 6 yr old girl loves it. made her a mechro all twinked with good hand-me-downs and heavy BFF spec so that she has a blast with just dicking around half the time. the perfect spec for nooblets and she gets a kick out of calling her robo-buddy to help when things get thick lol. going to bring her along with me now too in bl1 since I haven't gotten to get into it yet.

My "the most funny" blacklist was because I have too much games.
How do I know? I asked winner of my giveaway (which I made for my whitelist only) why am I blacklisted.

Both blacklist and whitelist counts are interesting to follow and try to figure out what was the reason for various fluctuations. So enjoy the show and if you ever feel down about the blacklist graph, just hide it (ESGST script can do that).

I thought the most recent one was funny, although also a bit sad -- I posted something that was fully intended as a joke that apparently got taken seriously (my fault for not including a smiley, I suppose). I only found out it led to a blacklisting by accident, and by then the original thread was closed, so I couldn't respond to the blacklister. I figured it wasn't important enough to actually go and call them up on Steam, though it's a little unfortunate that I apparently insulted someone without intending to.

The only thing sadder than blacklisting is publicly calling people out for blacklisting you (and, optionally, demanding that they right this terrible injustice) so I'm not going to link to details. By chance, maybe they'll read about it here, maybe not. I hope to eventually get removed by being too awesome to ignore giveaways from. :-P
