In your account, obviously.

I have 3 sections: beta, multiplayer and games.

I'm not very creative, I hope you have ideas

  • "Favorites" which is whatever I'm playing currently.
  • "Always" category which is for multiplayer or endless play type games.
  • "Coffee Break" category for games that can be played in sessions of 30 min or less.
  • "Beat It" category, self explanatory
  • "Half-life" Category for all the HL games, because I revisit these rather frequently.
  • All the rest are games that I haven't played yet or at least am not planning on playing very soon.

I organize by genre since I tend to play based on the mood I'm in. So I have Action, Adventure, RTS, ARPG, FPS, etc... I also have "crap" for games I never plan on playing again because they were horrible. Any unplayed games just go under "Games".

My Steam library isn't really organized, I never feel happy with the available system, as sorting by genre is difficult when certain games fit in so many. I wish I could give each game more than one Category, would make things much easier.

I used to organize it by a bunch of categories based on genre, coop/MP/SP and whether I feel like I'm "done" with the game (story complete, 100% or just bored with it). But since I change computers often and steam at least didn't USE to keep your categories account-bound I got bored of sorting 150ish games every time I wanted to upgrade my performance

Unfinished and everything else. I don't like that I can't choose 2 categories for one game.
