Obviously I met up with SadisticKitten through SG, I'd be game to meet up with anyone who was in our area, I'm sure she'd say the same. Germany is too far for the moment as we've got lots of other things to pay for, someday though for sure!

I love the idea of meeting up with people from SG, but I think I'd be too awkward and shy to actually do it. I feel really uncomfortable while meeting new people and it usually takes me a while to loosen up and even then I'm fairly quiet (unless I'm very comfortable around you). I'm also very insecure and worry that people won't like me, which is also why I never add people on Steam or talk to them unless they talk to me first :p So I'd have to find someone who would want to meet up with me first.
But it looks like you had an amazing time and a lot of fun together :)

Most people bring up that they're introverted and socially awkward, but I share most of your worries and it somehow worked out okay. I've been approached, so that's the last missing ingredient for you to make a meet-up happen. :D

I met Paxnit in real life and kind of introduced him to the site, and we both "met" DownwardConept on SG. The whole thing totally was Panit's idea.

Met Wallister of course, but I'd like to meet others! Although, I am extremely introverted... Super reserved and just suck at being social xD It takes me a long time to get comfortable with the exception of a few people (With Ally I was pretty comfortable with instantly, although was very nervous!) Like Ally said above, we need to save money right now so meet ups can't happen too soon!

most of us are introvert ;) out hobby, especially in hardfcore form most of us represent, is especially done by introverts and people who are socially awkward in many ways ;) But here's the thing - introverts understand other introverts much better and as much as introverted they are they can quite easilly socialize with other introverts ;) Common misconception is that introvert is someone who cannot socialize or don't socialize etc, which is false. Introvert can socialize, but it takes energy out of them, so they got to be alone, read, play, watch sth alone to gain energy, then they can socialize. Extraverts are other way around, they gain energy via socialization, they need to socialize in order to ghain energy which they then are losing when they are not socializing. But both parties can socialize just fine, jut in other ways (introverts will not socialize via let's say crazy dance party meeting tens of new ppl on dancefloor, extraverts will get bored of socializing in form of just sitting next to campfire, siping beers and talking with each other) ;)

Haven't met any SGers in RL, but I do communicate / play games with some. I'd be up for a RL meet depending on the location. Mannheim / Karlsruhe wäre sogar ÖPNV-technisch machbar von hier aus.

Ooooh! Sounds really fun! I only know 3, maybe 4 other SG users here in my country, and we're surrounded by ocean so that makes it harder to find other people that will join us. But a meetup sounds really cool. ^_^

looks like great fun.
15 years ago i went to a festival with a total stranger i knew from a musicforum, we shared a tent, beer and all the stuff you share on a festival. It was awesome. Later the forum made a footballgame with a little after party at a club in colonge every year and people from all over the world came to have fun. It's great because you meet people that, in real life, you would prob. not talk to. Later i visted one of the guys a few times in berlin to go clubbing.
Time went by, we all get older and the forum more or less died because of myspace/facebook and all. but it was a great time.
I'm not so deep in the SG-Community I guess and not know that much people here but if there would be a meeting I'll try to step by to have some drinks and more words :D

This is so great! ... and also a little funny, because I thought about inviting DC*, too. But I had a specific date/event in mind and now it looks like I will be moving that weekend :( Well, maybe it can work out anyway, we'll see. Oh wow, Voidy, that's a pretty fantastic story! Totally happy for you and entropia. Funny how love can be found in the strangest of places. May I ask how it all happened? And where are you from? Dear SG,
I've been lazy. I guess I have to face the fact that my Momma has always been right. Yeah. I'm lazy.
1000 games given away passed by like a breeze. 2000 games on Steam milestone day came and went (I was a bit shocked about the amount of games I had amassed, that was another reason nothing happened), 7 years on Steam birthday went by without celebration, 7777 games hidden even went unnoticed although I had it in the back of my head. So yeah well, SG. I did nothing but lurking in the past months.
But now the time has come, spring is on our doorsteps, to awaken our spirits anew and breathe some life back into this community!
I have a story to share! Last weekend DownwardConcept decided to get into a bus and drive down here to meet up with Paxnit and me! :D
This was the first time for me to meet a person I had only known through the internet and I found this to be so exciting. He arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon and stayed till Monday. On Saturday we had some homemade pizza at Paxnit's place, followed by gaming, drinking beer and rum and listening to awesome music. We took the guy out to show him around our area the next day, we were lucky, it was sunny, and I think he fell in love with the place (let me know if I got the wrong impression, DC!), just as we love our homecountry :D
After that we went to my place, made a bonfire, had some more beer and music, made spaghettis on the fire and talked and laughed all night long. See pictures for impressions (and really sorry all you curious folks out there, none of us really was a foto person ;P). Right on Monday evening I became sick, must have caught a cold somewhere during the weekend, so that's why this thread comes with a week of delay also.
Whadd'ya think, SG, about a big gathering of as many of us as possible? That'be so great! Because now I want to meet you all great people!
I have some games to share as well and as I became tired of a trains I'll just post them here. Originally I wanted to do a puzzle, but this will have to wait till next time, it's late.
