Signing in to the website is no problem. Signing into the the actual Desura launcher program is not working at all. I can't download anything without it being logged in, since all website-based links point me to the launcher.

I managed to download the games via direct download from the webpage now,not requiring the use of the launcher. Hover with your mouse over the game in your library,click on "play now",then above the "I have installed Desura" button it says in brackets (download direct or view key) click on download direct and then download and voila :P

I copied the hosts file to the desktop, edited it with everything above (actually, lines listed in another earlier thread, but same stuff basically), then copied the hosts file back into System32. I tested it in an already-opened tab in an already opened Chrome and it loaded. I pulled up a new Firefox browser tab and it worked there too. The client itself is still not working, same as yours.

edit the file "hosts" with notepad or similar.
