Buying just the first Stalker game or all three?

Call of Pripyat is the best in my opinion, especially with the Misery mod.

I loved them all, but shadow of chernobyl is by far the best one

I'd get all three if I were you, they can be pulled from the store at any given moment, seeing how the original team completely abandoned it. I don't even know who has the rights to the series now...

I played soc and cs - both are great, people forgot to mention that cs is harder but not worse! It has much better rpg's elements than soc. Both of them are great games, now I start cop - its one of best series in history.

Buy the Call of Pripyat only, it's the best Stalker in my opinion

Buy them SoC and CoP, but play with mods from the start. The best for me is complete mod. Tha games have amazing atmosphere and avegare gameplay.

I will pick up Shadow of Chernobyl for sure as a lot of people recommended me it.

They're among the best and most atmospheric shooters ever made. Well, Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. Clear Sky is not that great.

You should get SoC first and if you like it, then buy all of them. Clear Sky might not be that great, but its still worth it and you'll gain some great knowledge about the zone if you get done with it.

Clear Sky is not even worth your time. It has one of the worst design ideas, I've ever seen in games.

Buy all three. They're all pretty good, despite what people say about Clear Sky.

Might want to consider downloading a couple of mods as well, there's loads of brilliant ones that add loads more content to the games.

First is very good, and i only found a very small number of minor bugs playing with the latest version. The mods look awful, and aren't necessary.

The problem is the second: it's absolutely awful. The AI is worse, the AI cheats, the story is terrible, the gameplay is monotonous and boring, and the narrative feels more like a mod than a fully fledged game.
What do i mean by "the AI cheats"? Here are some examples: a sawn off shogun in the player's hands is only somewhat-useful at very short range (even then it usually takes 2, sometimes 3 shots to kill); however, in the AI's hands, it's deadly from ANY distance. ANY distance. The AI also has a ridiculous tendency to collectively grenade you back to hell the moment you come into contact with them.

Then there are the "faction wars", which seemed great fun at first, but were soon revealed to be just as buggy and unfinished as the rest of the game. Being called from half the map away every minute to a point you have 12 seconds to reach to "defend" while you're trying to explore is ridiculously annoying. The story is by far the absolute worst part of the game, though.
In short, skip Clear Sky. I quit after finishing Agroprom and realising how absolutely awful the game was. 90% is a rehash of SoC's story.

You'll miss nothing whatsoever by skipping Clear Sky. Believe me.
