So wise. Like a young Yoda.
I'm in, I'll be around some time tomorrow!

I'd totally help out, if only I had the game.
But seriously this sounds interesting. I can't afford the game so unless I win it on SG or someone's nice enough to gift me it I can't help out, though I'd be willing to. Good luck, have a bump.

Suspended. Been around long enough to know joke begging isn't allowed.
Comment has been collapsed.
Then you should make a new word for it, because that's absolutely not what a suspension is.
Comment has been collapsed.
You clearly don't understand the definition of suspension.
Comment has been collapsed.
"To halt something temporarily" or "to hold in an undetermined or undecided state." An indefinite suspension is perfectly within those boundraries. Permanent suspensions are in essence indefinite because they can be lifted at any time. If you still have an objection, take it up with cg and stop complaining to someone who was perfectly happy with "banned."
Comment has been collapsed.
Who said I was complaining? If that's what it seems like, I'll stop, but I, personally, was just interested in why you thought suspensions could be permanent.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can be lost for words all you like. There's a reason we suspend for it.

because there is no emotion with text hence why Poe's Law was linked to.. so if I were to say "piss off" you may get offended but if I were to say it with an emoticon "piss off :)" you can clearly see there was a joke element to it...
UNDERSTAND NOW?????

so what you are saying is hint hint without an emotion added to it isn't a joke based on some poe's law? what? . i don't understand the youth of today with there ever growing excuse pile. how can he be suspended over a "joke" beg if he clearing wasn't joking according to some poe dude? im lost

And I think you should spend some more time learning basic reading comprehension before telling other people what to do. We don't all get what we want.

You are the one dragging this conversation out because you can't accept a straight answer. Now, please stop being a jerk and let's move on to something else.

I just won the game earlier today. I might give it a try when I receive it.

Tried it out. Found the city, got in, wandered around a bit and got shot by some guy named Araxor. LOL!
I think I need to understand the basics from the game before I try to join with a group...

check out my review for it to get a 1st impression
Im enjoying it but depends on who if anyone you are playing with in a group.. experiences can vary

All the items have descriptions, you already know the default recipes, and the rest you find via blueprints. Zombies aren't really an issue, your issue is players and hostile wildlife (bears, wolves). You can kill a zombie with a rock if you learn how to or outrun them (avoid red zombies, they move about as fast as you). If you don't have a mic, you'll probably get shot more often (this server being an exception). Living in a hidden location is good, typically you should go for a sturdy house and metal doors because shacks and wooden doors can be broken. Trust no one but don't kill them all unless you're a bandit.
Anyone who wants to see the pictures can go to this thread, which I googled.

Bumping this for you.
I played the server for 4-6 hours. It was fun but I'm done with this game for now. I made this comparison earlier to a friend.
You ever play a game for 8 hours straight, save, exit, go to bed. Then get up the next day only to find your savefile is corrupt or lost?
Thats the feeling I got from Rust. Every single time I logged out for the night and came back in the morning, everything was taken.
I enjoyed playing the game itself, but the starting over each day, makes it pointless to me.
If/When the game adds Traps or AI to guard your stuff when you are away, I may step back in.
I want to thank JEEP for allowing me on his server. I had fun while I was there :D

Aw, really? That first time was like 12 hours, and it all corrupted? Damn man, that sucks.

I believe Traps are coming in the next patch (or soon after) - This game is Alpha afterall .. so when its finished I expect completely different.
But I guess Im singing the same song alot of people point out about this whole Early access thing.
The game isn't finished, its given a false-sense of completion. People are gonna burn out before it launches and you pay full price without actually playing the real game..

Ah, so the game world is always active then? No single player offline map?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yea as long as the server is on, the game is on. So the only way to protect your stuff while offline is ...
A> Build somethiing with a ton of doors.. Maze like.
B> Hide your house in a hard to find location
C> Have many many small houses splitting up your stuff so even several raids wont take you out
D> Have a good friend base that plays so there's always someone online.

Ive heard of wolves done this way.. Not sure if rumor or truth

...And then hackers came and ruined it for you. Or do you have active admins scanning the server constantly?

Sounds interesting. I've still got this server in mind, for whenever I end up getting the game. Do lawbreakers get banned from the server? Or just restricted from the town proper? I think it'd make for a more interesting server with different communities being built up on one server. Megaton vs. Tenpenny Tower, for example.

Seems like a good idea, will come take a look later today.

What a neat idea! If I can get my hands on a copy of Rust during a sale later, I'll see if y'all are still doing this.
Hopefully the devs expand things, so it's easier to make larger player-controlled cities. This has so much potential.
Best of luck with your project!

There are a lot of negative reviews for Rust. The devs said, in a recent post, "this is 10% finished." While it is true that your things can be stolen rather quickly, it is important to note that clever strategies can be employed to prevent this. Hiding in mountains, joining lower population servers, and/or being in groups is optimal. Also, to anyone who is hesitant to buy it, the price probably won't rise, though the trading price of ~6-7 keys will.
Regarding the server itself, I wouldn't necessarily call it a social project. Imagine there's a clan on a server that basically dominates it and has made their own fortress. This is basically that, though any one can join said clan. Very interesting idea, but at the moment, it does not seem to be optimally applied. Also, "60-80" residents can be misleading. While there probably are that many, including sleepers; currently, server population seems to average ~15. Accounting for the Super Bowl, that's still short of 60-80.

What happened to the server? Can't connect since yesterdays update

Hey everybody!
Me and some other players at a server decided to get together, and start a project;
create organized civilization. By that, we wanted to create an entire city with hundred of players online at the same time! Too bad it's not possible with the current optimization, nor the playercount...
What we did manage though, was to create a few houses along the road.
As we began to build there, more and more people joined the server, and built their own houses/appartments.
Right now there is about 60 - 80 residents sleeping/online in the town-area.
Here are some screenshots of how it looks so far:
THE TOWN:

http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/...A49791FFC010C/
We're also hosting daily events, really unique ones in some cases.
We're going from the A - Z regarding events. Name it 10 vs 10 with rocks, or big road above ground, where you have to jump to the end, for your survival.
Check the screenshots below.

Since the first town has gotten quite populated, and there isn't space to build any new houses, we decided to make a "suburb" of the town.
If you are a new player/looking for a very organised server, jump right in!
Everybody can join the town, new or old player.
PvP is ON, so be careful! If any PvP is done/seen in town (to harm another player), you will be expelled from the town, and you will most likely not get permission back inside again.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this project whether it be successful or not, I'm really excited. It started out with a lot of piece between people, then it bursted out in a war between the town vs a bunch of raiders, and as it is right now, it's all quiet in town (peace), but outside of town is beginning to look less pretty...
To join the server, look for "Rusted Civilization - Project A"
Or do it the easy way:
Press F1 (console)
Type in:
net.connect 134.255.229.132:12010
Hit enter.
Thank you for reading, and hope to see you in-game and participate in the project!
