Option 1: Showing your commitment by playing a previous won game on SteamGifts that you did not yet play. The game shouldn't be very short and must have achievements. Comment with the name of the game and comment again when you finished playing it. Please upload some screenshots to Steam as well.
Yes - seeing you have ~275 winnings without achievements yet, shouldn't be that hard to find something worth playing? ;)

Hey there, I'd like to be part of this group if you'll have me :]
I have played all my wins to some extent. Although none of the games have achievements, I can try to describe how much I've experienced of them: Sacrifice Dungeon (1) was truly terrible. I had such a bad time trying to play this "game" that I was inclined to write my first negative review: "Your time is better spent doing other things..." (Forgive me for not being more descriptive of this one but I'd rather not dwell on that experience.) Soldiers of the Universe (2) is an overly ambitious FPS. The cutscenes are really bad at drawing emotion due to dated animations but the textures are detailed and the guns feel good to shoot. Unfortunately the enemies can see you from any distance and they can hit you, so I keep being killed by nearly invisible specks from across the map. Otherwise not a bad game tbh, I might end up taking another whack at it at some point but it is genuinely difficult. Icons: Combat Arena (3) was in closed beta until recently and you could only play during certain times that I didn't know about and/or wasn't able to attend. (It's kind of funny that I won the closed beta key but wasn't able to play it until it until it was F2P.) I just got to try my first few matches and it's pretty easy to pick up since it plays just like Smash Bros. which is my only real experience with fighting games. Very likely I'll pick this up again soon, especially if they release more free characters.
I mainly want to join this group to do a giveaway for two copies of my favorite game, Super Cloudbuilt. Apparently I have a pending request to join but I don't think I ever asked formally, so this is me doing just that! Thanks for considering me and have a great day :]

You've played it indeed, but not for very long. The main story (or average playtime if you will) is about 10 hours for this game, so we'd like to see a number close to that. Also you didn't unlock any achievements and/or made screenshots. Please be sure to read what we consider "playing" for group winnings in our FAQ to make sure this is the right group for you.

The achievements aren't working I don't think, or perhaps it's not recording properly for me. I got cards for it though. I never bother with screenshots as it's just not my thing.
Also, it's an online-only game which I didn't realise when I had applied to the giveaway, so it is something I would only play with friends (and not many of mine have it).
Sorry, but bad choice I guess... hopefully I can get something better in this group though?

No problem, you can change the game. Seeing you haven't got more winnings, how about picking an unplayed game from your Steam library instead that has achievements? Please let me know. :)

I have played Cities in Motion 2 in the past and I actually found it quite nice. Considering you have 3 qualifying games now I can't really offer you to pick a game from your Steam library again so I guess you would have to wait for another win then if you want to join.

I got Cities: Skylines, and having compared these two (as well as SimCity) I decided that C:S was best for me. I mean, not that it is relevant much, but you'll see I have a lot of play time on that game in the last week or so. I am going to check out CiM2 too though, as I note your suggestion.
I notified Reforced that I'd play Battle Riders, and whilst I did so and it was a good game, it is an arcade style combat/racer, so doesn't really "finish".

It is not enough sorry and considering we do require more playtime than that on some games (for games that are 10 hours and longer the minimum required playtime is 5 hours) even if you don't like them / have a better alternative I don't think you would be a good fit for the group.

That's fine, albeit I think that it's a very... naive approach. 4 hours in a game is a long time, and I think regardless of what game/genre etc it is enough time spent playing a game to decide you do not like it.
The whole principle of playing is appreciated is good, and I like it... clearly it works judging by the interest. Though what I would say is that (at least in my case) I browse games on steamgifts in the hope that I win something with the ability to try it and see if I'll like it... something that I would not want to commit my money to because of the uncertainty... if I truly like a game - or rather think I'll like a game - then I just buy it.
Anyway, would it be possible for me to join via Option 2? I have 3 games I'd be happy to give away.

Yup, option 2 is possible, just be careful when entering that you are prepared to play it enough to satisfy the requirements (if you are unsure how much is needed feel free to ask me as I edit most of the playtime data so I can give pretty decent estimates).
I think (I was not there when the rules were made) the requirement is more there so that people don't enter everything, play it for 5 minutes and claim they don't like it.

Hi ET3D! The rule to keep your Steam profile public is something we ask from all members, to keep moderation simple. You could join as guest gifter if you'd like, meaning you'd leave the group after the giveaways you wanted to create have ended. You can do that as often as you'd like. As for the final comment, I've changed "as soon as you get invited" to "as soon as your membership request is approved" now. That should take care of that. ;)

don't know if i'll ever be able to become a real member of PA. or member of any other group has "play your games" as its starting point.
lesson learnt: after a while, you start to see PA giveaways everywhere. ton and tons of SG giveaways start to look as Playing Appreciated, Playing Matters, Play Your Games giveaways.

I'm sorry you had some issues. I give you that the warning is a bit strongly worded; for this reason we send it only after the month has already passed as our default warning (in the past we did send out "friendly reminders", but it did not work that well or people just waited till the last week and did not need it). In any case, you can just reply to the warning if you disagree, have a different view, or can go ahead and play the game some more - no harm done.
In this specific case, looking at the game, it has 5 chapters; yet you did not complete a single chapter (e.g. you didn't get the achievement First Hour Survive the first chapter, Midnight.). I guess that is why it wasn't approved and therefore you got the warning. You can just ask for feedback or tell that you think it was enough played. Instead, something went wrong in the communication there and it derailed completely. I don't feel the need to reiterate those comments/replies; but I'm confident that the group moderators handled things appropriately.
Things like this are always sad, but happen for whatever reason; be it due language barriers, miscommunication or misinterpretation from you or us. I feel you are still unhappy about it, since you keep coming back on it. I hope with this insight given from my part, we can just let it go now and enjoy the great SteamGifts community which has so much more to offer then this group. I'm sure a lot of people here will be happy with the games you offer, doing so either via a public giveaway, another group or your own group.

Perhaps I wasn't clear: joining as guest gifter means you can keep your profile private, however also means you cannot stay in the group. You are just temporary in the group then to contribute some giveaways, without joining any. As for choosing between another group or us, feel free to share it with both groups if you wish.

I'd like to join if possible, I did a private giveaway yesterday trying to get somebody to play a game I enjoyed, I'd go for Option 2 and either give away the same game while it's on a heavy discount or something else I've enjoyed and reviewed in the past.
Edit: Want to add that I'd only participate in giveaways for games I would be interested enough in to try completing, and I'd only put up giveaways for games with enough quality to be worth completing. Not sure if my group request on Steam was denied or if I just don't know how all that works, I won't pester about it I'm just really interested in giving away games to people who are looking for a game to play rather than a +1

Introduction
Playing Appreciated is a group for members that like to play games they win and for giveaway creators that like to see their games getting played. This sounds simple, yet requires committent and dedication from members by filtering out games they like to play from all group giveaways and when won playing those within one month. In return members will get higher chances of winning games they want and creators will know their giveaways have a high chance of getting played. The group has more than 1000 members and over 25000 historical giveaways.
