That's not Super Meat Boy in The Basement Collection, it's Meat Boy, an early draft of the game.
Purchasing The Basement Collection will get you one Steam entry from which all the games launch.

Doesn't it also give you the game to play right away?

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you purchase The Basement Collection on Steam you will immediately get one copy of a game called "The Basement Collection" which will immediately appear in your game library.

The Basement Collection consists of flash games and prototypes by Edmund McMillen.

Dude, it's a bunch of flash games the guy who made SMB made before it. It's called the basement collection since it's like the plans for future games and games that never got any further, you know, like you might find in someones basement in a box or something.

Basically by buying the basement collection you get to play: "Aether", "Time Fcuk", "Spewer", "Meat Boy", "Grey Matter", "Coil" and "Triachnid".

These are not given in a form of steam keys, The basement collection itself IS the game. It's basically a collection of Edmund McMillens creations all together (Isaac, Super Meat boy and Gish are not part of it) with bonus stuff thrown in.

When you launch The Basement Collection it opens the game window which starts at a menu where you choose which game in the collection you'd like to play. TBC counts as 1 game/1 key.
