He is also extremely helpful. Anyone has off days, and yet he is still here doing a volunteer job.
And expecting a private giveaway from a Greenlight company is selfish.

Hilarious that the support staff of the website starts calling people names. NOT!

Keep in mind, their focus is getting people to notice their Greenlight page. A private giveaway will reduce the numbers of visitors.

Hey, I hope you don't mind me dropping a suggestion about your game this late of the development stage. The game looks interesting to me but the sound effects are not that appealing. It's a common theme this day that small developers forget to pay attention to the vocal part of the game. I am currently making sound effects for an indie game made by my friends and they are overwhelmed how great variety of sound effects can make the game so much better.
Just a thought, hope you are not offended by it. Awesome giveaway anw!

Thanks for the feedback! Not offended at all. We are always looking for ways to improve the game. That trailer is kind of old and we've made a lot of improvements to the way we handle SFX and to the clips themselves. It is a pain though, none of us are 'sound guys' so we've kind of struggled in this area. But we're constantly iterating on things so the goal is to have it be awesome in the end.

That is how you eventually find success, by not willing to settle for "good enough." )
I think it was definitely a positive move getting involved in SteamGifts. Most of the people on this site are friendly, helpful, and eager to root for the underdog. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the regulars on this site are helping your cause through word-of-mouth exposure. I suppose that sort of adds to the pressure on you, knowing that so may people are expecting great things from you, but just remember that they are "on your side." Reach out to the community and you will find them ready and willing to help.

Yeah, we're never satisfied with stuff that is just okay. We're constantly critiquing each other to make sure we are creating a great game. It's all about iteration and going over stuff again and again until it's just right.
It was definitely a great move for us to start getting involved here. But yeah, there is a lot of pressure now, haha. Not that we weren't before but now we are more obligated to ensure that Ascendant is something awesome. But having this community help us through Greenlight is worth any pressure or expectation that we have to live up to.

Hahahaha, this is great. I'm glad we were able to sway your opinion :) And you're right, when we first put up Ascendant on Greenlight we didn't have much. We've made a lot of improvements since then so I'm hoping that more people will like what they see now.

You reacted to my comment about more actively promoting the game on Greenlight with some interactivity between Greenlight and SG to stimulate the voting but as I'm not sure if you keep reading that giveaway page, I will be posting this here: I found the example I was talking about: These guys. And if you read carefully you notice they also changed the word they used for their strategy multiple times so they even encouraged coming back to the page which seems to always be a positive thing to me.

Wow, thank you so much for finding this! It's pretty ingenious. Retention is a big issue on Greenlight (among other things). Keeping players and fans coming back to the page is difficult because Steam doesn't make it very easy to see updates for pages they've favorited or follow so seeing how they were able to do that is really helpful. I'll be thinking about this and try to incorporate something similar into our next big giveaway.

Hi guys! Just wanted to say thank you for your help to get our game, Ascendant, more votes on Greenlight. We got buried in their system almost immediately and it has been such a huge burden to get people to even LOOK at the damn thing. When we started doing giveaways here about a week ago we had no idea what the reaction would be and were kind of worried that we would be shut down immediately. But you guys are awesome. You've been very receptive about what we're doing and we are eternally grateful for your support.
So, thanks. It's been a blast and we will continue doing giveaways and participating in this incredible community for awhile.
Also, here is a Dark Souls II giveaway. Because this game is going to be just so rad.

Edit: Some confustion here. We are NOT Greenlit yet. I am just expressing my appreciation for you because you guys are helping us out immensely to get to the point where we CAN get Greenlit. Link here.
