Which for the third?
Sadly most of the people towards whom I'm really thankful have left the site, and I feel like naming one or a even a few nice SG users in particular would be a disgrace to the ones I forgot to mention :/ I guess I could still thank you, Zaugr, for making this thread and particularly that list of games, since I find it pretty nice when people go out of their way to promote indie games that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise (Vigil and Garden Story in particular really got my attention)?
As for Ghibli-like games, since you mention Ni No Kuni, have you thought about old JRPGs like Secret of Mana (the original, not the recent 3D remake)? They often shared common themes with movies like Nausicaa or Princess Mononoke. I think Cyberconnect2's "Little Tail Bronx" games (Tail Concerto, Solatorobo, and the upcoming Fuga) could also be considered if you liked Castle in the Sky's janky flying machines? Nothing comes to my mind when I try to think about games which could be similar to their more "grounded", contemporary stories though :/

I hadn't heard of any of those you mentioned before, and after looking through a few reviews and google-picturing, they look pretty promising (secret of mana especially!), so thank you Melusca :) Now I just gotta work out how I'd go about playing them... I really need to buy some of those older consoles to play these classics, because I can never stick with emulator games. xd

If you have a Switch, there's a good port of the first 3 Mana games (including Secret of Mana), "Collection of Mana". I don't know if it's going to be adapted for PC, but I would be extremely wary if that's the case, considering most of Square Enix PC ports are atrocious :/

I'm already on your whitelist but I want to bump, and participate since I get into bursts of anti-social mental locks... And this kind of gives me a chance to take a step out of that corner for a moment. xD
I want to compliment Lugum. He's been doing events ever since I joined this site over 2 years ago. That's pretty solid dedication, and I have to respect it. I'm the type who overplans, and then tries to run full steam with an idea, and then runs out of steam to a slow down til I stop altogether and never pick it back up... So to me it's really something amazing to keep going like that. xD
The trailer for Hotel Sowls does look neat. Makes me think of an Undertale Detective theme.

DrTenma is pretty cool. On his monthly Jigidi puzzle thread, he goes out of his way to thank everyone who bumps the thread even though he really doesn't have to. I find it cool he takes the time to do that.
balloonimal in terms of the game I won from them (although I appreciate all wins). I won The Talos Principal from balloonimal and it's among my favourite games. It was also quite an expensive game at the time, so I really appreciate I was able to experience the game.
I also appreciate this thread. It let me reminisce about my times in steamgifts. The forums really add a lot to this site which is primarily about giving and winning games, so I always found that cool. Some of the games you shared are cool too (I wasn't aware of Garden Story, so thanks).

They kind of are there own things really. Breath of The Wild is an open world game about freedom and some story elements (I didn't finish it btw, it's easy to get lost just checking out a bunch of side things, in a good way) while Princess Mononoke is a film, where the story is the main purpose. Here's the thing I meant though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oYDVLhnXh0
I agree with the Wind Waker comparison in that sense, although since Zelda games are gameplay first, they really can't be compared to films in general my opinion.
If your also not aware, Ni No Kuni was heavily inspired by Studio Ghibli works, and I think they even worked with them, the most direct example being the drawn animations in the game which were made be them.

Breath of the Wild absolutely feels like a Ghibli epic, more so than The Wind Waker, I suggested the latter since I believe it better fits the aspects (breezy, soft, subtly magical, innocent, young and unhurried adventure) Zaugr is looking for :)

I agree with you! I kind of appreciated Ghibli films for having a journey focus to them, vs a focus on the grand plot. It really grabbed my attention in that sense because games have to heavily rely on the moment to moment narrative as well. Grave of the Fireflies did that amazingly,, as an example.

Oh yeah, Zelda is definitely a series worth checking, but keep in mind that The Wind Waker is a divisive entry, mainly for reinventing the series' visual identity, but also for its emphasis on sailing as well as being a relatively short experience, as Nintendo rushed out the game in a desperate attempt to curb the GameCube's plunging sales.
The fact that it still managed to achieve critical acclaim is a testament to its qualities :)

Hey thanks for putting this indie games list together Zaugr!
I know sensualshakti has already been mentioned but those bundle threads she puts together for everyone are so helpful and informative as they serve as a great reference. Awesome effort and many thanks to her!

DrTenma is a real joy :3 And his puzzles are great! Whenever I find the time, I solve them and although we rarely talk, the site would not be the same without him <3
And jizD67 is still a lovely and kind person <3 I'm glad I met her ^^
I would also like to mention the lovely flutesong who was a real angel when I lost one of my cats.
And, of course, fizfix! I rarely encountered such a lovely, nice, positive and altogether awesome person! She's like an angel and you just have to love her!
They all deserve it to be on every whitelist imaginable, far more than I do!
Oh, and then, there's this lovely person called Zaugr ^^ Thanks to him, I need to add several new games to my whishlist, since he mentioned them in his thread and he makes a whole lot of us remember all the great people that we encounter on this site.
Hope you all are happy and healthy ^^

I'm already on your super cool kids list but I still want to compliment not one person in particular (because there's too many) but more of a general thank you to all the users who make this site a nice and welcoming place to be.
And of course thanks to you Zaugr for being one of those people 💙

hello I want to thank Zaugr for his very big draw, and I also wish everyone good health and not get sick

There are so many people I would like to name because they are treasures which I love to gather in my 💙 list.
I'm always amazed at people doing events, creating things in order to entertain the members of this place. I can't just name one person and I'm too afraid to forget any. So if you ever had a thought for someone from this website and/or did something to make someone smile, I'm thinking of you, you guys are amazing.

Don't question the title.
Hey! So I haven't created a thread in what feels like years. And now that I'm quarantined and bored as shit, nows a good a time as any :D
I have twooo giveaways to giveaway here (and a third in the near future from votes, that'll also be WL-gated) (personally my vote is for Hotel Sowls, and NOT JUST BECAUSE ITD SAVE ME MONEY,, ok maybe a bit, but seriously watch that trailer look how weird and cute it is?? the vibes??), the theme for which are that theyre amazing-looking indie games that havent been given away here on SG yet. one is open to all over level 3, and the other behind a whitelist gate. Since I thought it worked really well in my last thread, I'm going to do the same thing here
To get into my super exclusive cool kids club whitelist, all you have to do is give someone a compliment on this thread. Try find something you can genuinely compliment on/something you find great about them. It can be anything from their steam profile, to their avatar, to their presence here, whatever. And I'll add you. :)
OR
Mention a forum user you are grateful for! (for anything as well, maybe a game you won from them and really liked, or a comment they left, the threads they make, their general presence... etc). That'd be great too
If you took part in the last one, and want to show appreciation to the same person, or can't think of another right now, feel free to do just that. :)
Oh! And you have to have said your thank yous in past won giveaways as well!
Not ALL--because some are said through steam I understand, and sometimes its just late, your tired and/or feeling negative, and you forget.... But I want to make sure there are a few. Because saying thank you is always the bare minimum one can do, right?
disclaimer:your whitelist may not remain after the giveaways end depending on how many enter, since I like to try keeping it somewhat small, and somehow I've gathered 239 people (really not small) on it already apparently (too many kind and great people here on SG).. So please dont do any whitelist for whitelist stuff, and hate me if you find I then cut you out after :(
Also, here's a few random (totally objectively) amazing-looking and aesthetically pleasing upcoming indie games that may or may not interest you, that I've found stalking the steam upcoming tab over the years:

And on another unrelated note, has anyone got any recommendations for Ghibli-inspired games (other than Ni No Kuni)? If not in art style, games that invoke that same sense of breezy, soft, subtly magical, innocent, young and unhurried adventure as their films do. That invoke for you the same magical feelings as these tracks...
